Oribe

I got a cut with Kevin Apple because Allure recommended him for long hair. Not only is he completely warm and friendly, he is very conservative with the cut. Many stylists want to do something ""funky"" with your hair and most of it ends up on the floor. Kevin gave me a solid, pretty cut, with nice layers, which is exactly what I wanted. He even dried my hair with one dryer while his assistant dried with another dryer. This really got me out of there fast & it surprised me since most stylists I've been to will not take the time to dry your hair; they pass that job off to someone else. I was nice to everyone at the salon and I got zero attitude. From the receptionist to the shampoo girl to the blowdry guy, everyone was nice. I think it's a very good salon but not for everyone because you will pay $200+ for a cut (with tips, I paid $246). But if you can afford it, it's definitely worth the splurge. more

I don't usually post comments online but I was astonished to see this review about the Oribe Salon.\r First of all, the customer service is impeccable!! From the minute I walked in I was amazed at how personable and welcoming the entire staff was. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, yet very chic and clean. I had my hair colored by David Gonzalez and cut by Kevin Apple as per an article I read in Allure magazine's Best of Miami. As a result, I walked out looking and feeling great! For such a high profile salon I was amazed how friendly and down to earth Oribe and his entire staff was. As for parking, there was plenty of it right across the street in a metered parking lot - Miami Beach rates. I'm very concerned about my entire appearance and Oribe Salon and his staff totally delivered.\r \r In my opinion, someone who frequents a Cheesecake Factory tells me they're not too concerned about their appearance. And someone who can't even spell 'over-processed' tells me there's a lack of education somewhere. I doubt they can even recognize a five-star, high quality salon. more

This place is the ""Cheescake Factory"" of hair salons . It's a big sparkley salon with a 5 -star pricetag that doesn't deliver. Think mass production color services without personalized service. You will be lucky if you see your colorist for 15 minutes. The color services need to be avoided which are touted as ""masterful"". I witnessed a lot of overprossed thin, whitish"" holding on for dear life hair "" which will ultimately be blamed on the client.\r \r The stylist are the key to this salon and temporarily camouflage any damage done by the colorist and make it hip and cool. However, the horribley rude and inappropriate attitude of several staff members makes enjoying the experience a challenge. Parking is inconvenient and costly and the prices are exorbitant which make this salon a bother. Too bad because Oribe himself is a very talented and nice man.
