I got tired of the dating scene and decided to sit at O'Reilly's until the right girl walk walked into my life. Great place for a pint! 8/19/2002

I've spent many a day and night at O'Reilly's and I must say that it's the closest thing to Cheer's (the TV show) I've ever encountered. The staff is friendly and the food goes perfect with beer! If you like meat and potatoes...share the cottage pie with a friend your stomach will be instantly gratified and your head will thank you in the morning! more

O'Reilly's may be San Francisco's best example of how good pubs & restaurants employ good people to make you feel welcome. Myles O'Reilly, Fiachre O'Shaughnessy and the other staffmembers treat people fairly and make you feel at home. The food O'Reilly's is excellent. The Guinness is the best the city has to offer. The selection of whiskeys is impressive. The atmosphere is cozy. I would find it difficult to believe that there is a better neighborhood pub in the city, or a better group of people running one... always a good crowd, though you have to fight your way to the bar! Friendly people, lots of room to wander, some outside seating available. Pros: central location Cons: small outdoor seating more

Shamrock in a Garlic Patch 8/14/2002

A great place for Irish charm stuck right in the middle of San Francisco's Italian neighborhood. Myles runs the the best pub in the business and gives the city a St. Paddy's Day street party and an end-of-lent Oyster and Beer Festival every year. The city would be a sadder place without Myles O'Reilly and O'Reilly's Irish Pub and Restaurant. Pros: Great location, BofA across the st., Huge meals Cons: A little small. more

This is not fine dining but for great pub grub you would go a long way to do better. I like nothing better than to sit at the bar and try the fish and chips or cottage pie. Then I'm ready....get me a Guinness more

A truly neighborhood bar 7/26/2002

Despite its location in the tourist hub of North Beach this is a true locals bar. I moved to the neighborhood three years ago and feel as comfortable here as in my own front room. All the bar tenders know me by name and always have time for a few words. great spot to come on your own too as there is such a relaxed feel that you can strike up a converstaion with anyone. more

One of my favorite places in the world is Ireland because the people are so friendly. Walking into O'Reilly's makes me feel like I'm right back there. From the bar tenders to the owners, everyone goes out of their way to make you feel so comfortable. Always a great time at O'Reilly's! more
