They use some seasoning, it seems like in every single dish. I can't figure out what it is, but I don't care for it at all. Have tried Oregano's several times, pizzas and pasta ...

I brought company from out of town here 5/16/2012

I brought company from out of town here for the first time & we all thought this place was the greatest ever! We ordered the O'Riva Pizza & Cookie Pizza for dessert & they were out of this world! We are all still talking about the food. I had heard many great things about Oreganos but had never been here. I will be returning often & bringing all of my out of state friends as well! The restaurant was a bit noisy-that is the only thing we didn't care for. Just fabulous food!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Too Salty 9/22/2011

Ordered both the deep dish and the thin crust plain cheese pizza. The children took just one bite and spit it out. I threw out both pizzas uneaten including the salad. The 2 pizzas and salad dressings were very salty. I should have bought a box of Morton salt for less than the $50.00 I paid for the entire meal. more

Oregano's is the BEST 5/10/2010

This is an excellent restaurant! Of course it's boisterous, the tables are close, the lines are long, because it's an EXPERIENCE, like MANY great restaurants we clamor to visit in the Valley. With an amazing menu of neuvo Italian cuisine, a stellar wine selection, and a charming atmosphere, there's a reason Oregano's has never had a sparse crowd. I can't believe the negative reviews I'm reading at the Gilbert location (one of my favorites). Quit being so cranky! Please overlook these cantankerous posters and visit - just look for the bustling crowd and air of homemade crust! Delicious! A fabulous time for anyone who doesn't suffer from agoraphobia. Love you, Oregano's!! Pros: service, atmosphere, food Cons: cranky posters on this site... more

Oregano's of Gilbert Failed!!! 4/27/2010

I eat at this Oregano's often because of the tasty food, fun service and atmosphere. The experience was awful today! A salad took 45 minutes to come to the table - waitress tried to convince me the beef takes additional time- maybe to slaughter. I have the same salad (which is normally fantastic) a couple times a month - and it is always served pronto. Today I shared my salad with my lunch date and we both noticed the meat had a funny taste, but never said anything. It wouldn't have mattered as our waitress was busy doing something other than serving us. Both myself and lunch date ended up with nausea and stomach cramping. I called the restaurant to inform the manager. I didn't mention the poor service - only expressed concern for the food tasting funny and stomach pains. I didn't ask for $ back or anything like that. He didn't bother asking for a number or name. He actually seemed preoccupied - probably filling in for the waitress that served me today. If this was my first visit to Oregano's... it would have been a last, ever! Pros: Normallly great food and fun service Cons: Sometimes the wait is too long- something about the beef! more

Not so good ... 6/30/2009

Went with teenage kids (2) and wife. Lasagna was just foul ... poor tasting. Calzone was over cooked and too much seasoning/salt. And these were the favorites .. which took 45 minutes to get. Small table for 4 ... small plates for the huge calzone you get ... and it was a chore to get extra napkins. Won't go again ... Pros: Ample food Cons: Over cooked, too much seasoning, poor sauce more

I don't care for the food at all 4/11/2008

They use some seasoning, it seems like in every single dish. I can't figure out what it is, but I don't care for it at all. Have tried Oregano's several times, pizzas and pasta dishes. I just don't like it. I don't understand the big deal and the huge wait they always have. There are other great places to go, we won't go back. more

Different 2/21/2008

A group of us went here to meet up and enjoy some good pizza. Apparently the Italian sandwiches are absolutly great. I was needing something on the lighter side so I got the brushetta. The different part here was that instead of toasted bread with a tomatoe mixture, I recieved a fully cooked version that was similar to cheese bread with tomatoes and basil all cooked together. This took me by surprize at first, but it was really good. I totally recommend going here for a layed back time with good food. It was a bit of a wait to get the food due to it being busy, but worth it. Pros: Good location, plenty of parking Cons: The wait when it's busy more

Great Food / Great Service and Atmosphere 1/19/2007

This place has such awesome food that there is always a wait. They don't deliver so be willing to pick up. The authentic Italian fare is so flavorful. The staff is fun and friendly. If you have the time, try the Deep Dish Pizza - it is sooo worth the wait. Their unique dessert is the Pizooki (pizza cookie) comes highly recommended. Our family of 4 gets out the door for around $30 (without alcohol). more
