At Open Adoption & Family Services, an open adoption means you will have an ongoing relationship with your child and the adoptive family. OA&FS was the first open adoption agency in the Northwest and has facilitated more than 1,000 adoptions since 1985.
We support pregnant women/couples making decisions about parenthood in an atmosphere of dignity and respect. When the choice is adoption, we help plan child-centered open adoptions. We assist birth parents and adoptive parents as they create healthy, long-term relationships that address the ongoing needs of the child.
We are a private, nonprofit adoption agency with a progressive approach to building healthy families. We began providing services to birth parents and adoptive parents in Oregon in 1985. We expanded our programs to Western Washington in the early 1990's and to Eastern Washington in 1998. OA&FS is licensed by the states of Oregon and Washington and has offices in Portland, Eugene, Medford and Seattle. Since we were established in 1985, we've completed more than 1,000 open adoption placements.
