On Top of the World

We were excited to move to OTOW from CT because our friends love it here. We flew down to design our home with KIMBERLY MINNI who we find out is totally incapable of this job resulting in making the construction of our new home a nightmare! Fortunately I have her emails and what has been messed up in writing, We have been trying for months to get everything straightened out and she will not tyake ownership of her mistakes so OTOW won't do it. Tomorrow my husband and I meet with the head od Sales and Design to try to finally resolve all of our issues. BTW we were told in June to hurry up down here as our house would be done in mid August instead of on 10-21-21. It's the first week of September and now they are saying 11-19-21 which is not acceptable as our friends are returning 11-1-21 and we need to be out of their home. OTOW does not live up to its promises and your life is in total upheaval which doesn't bother them a bit. You could deal with it if you didn't have all the other lies that you've had to deal with. more

I was sold a home under fraudulent information by the sellers , their agent and the OTOW agent. Healthy dog got sick after 2 visits to dog park vet said probably pick up at dog park. Was told repairs were made when they were not fraudulent bills were produced by agents. Buyer beware many sites are run by OTOW and will not take negative reviews more

Sept. 2017 My wife and I recently visited On Top Of The World, and all seemed really nice, maybe too nice! We liked most things, and seemed favorable to the idea of moving there, however I thought, since they are STILL BUILDING, everyone's property value wouldn't change much, if at all. As long as new, homes are being built, property values have to go down, UNTIL they stop building, at which time, values could then start moving up. Another concern is that as a resident, you are basically "Captive", meaning if the family that owns, "On Top Of The World", passes away and leave everything to their children, all of the residents could be at the mercy of the new owners, whether the children, or completely new owners. All costs could go up, and all the residents would be up that proverbial creek, without a paddle, so to speak. My wife and I have decided to NOT buy at On Top Of The World for my examples mentioned, but still like the city of Ocala. We will be looking into purchasing a new or slightly used home, in a regular neighborhood, with regular aged people, and a variety of home styles. An independent home, like we were both raised in, while growing up, and with a property value that will raise, simply because of the city of Ocala itself, which we believe, is a really nice place to live! more

I think On Top of the World is a very nice retirement community. They have swimming pools, (ones that are heated during the winter), golf, a community center just to name some of the activities around. Many people have golf carts to drive around in. Most of the homes have an outlet in the garage to accomodate one. The homes are nice. Nice sized. I don't know about those guards at the gate though. The other problem I see is when people get too old and they can't drive anymore and whatnot that the mailbox and the trash compactor are too far. Most old people can't walk that far and if you don't have a golf cart I guess you have to pay someone to do it for you. Those are the only things I didn't like about the place. Other than that the people seem nice ( a bit nosey for my taste) , the grounds are well kept, there are a lot of activities and its very quiet. more
