I used to live in Montgomery and recently went back to visit... made sure to stop here again for the BEST Sesame ginger tuna around!! Since we ate there, my friend and I haven't stopped craving it! Sounds crazy considering we live in Atlanta... you'd think we'd be able to find something like it around here?? Nope!! Great food, cozy atmosphere, love all the candles... would hate to be the one to light them everyday lol... Check it out... it's a experience, you'd never think Montgomery would have... Moderately priced gourmet food with a casual atmosphere! Candles and recessed lights illuminate the restaurant to give a truly romantic dining experience. When you walk in, you would never guess the place is a restaurant. From the outside it appears as if they are closed almost as if a garage door was pulled down. To the left is a glass door to push open. When you walk in, the entire seating area is about the size of a two car garage with a Nuevo bar in the back. Small bistro tables line the walls with white linens and the appearance of expensive silverware. Service is prompt and the wait staff is truly a pleasure. The menu is limited to whatever is fresh and it was easily noticed that the chef took pride in his (or her) work! I had a shrimp appetizer that was out of this world delicious followed by a Napoleon tomato with warm vinegar dressing which remarkable. The filet was cooked to perfection and was amazingly tender. With the limited choices in the Capitol City, The Olive Room is truly a breath of fresh air for those who appreciate fine Gourmet treats! Pros: Best Romantic Experience in town! Both the exterior and interior of the Olive Room are designed in a way to make you think you've dropped out of the deep south and into Soho or Greenwich Village. The food is both well prepared and exciting, definitely different from the normal steak and fries type chains prevalant in the city. Service is usually pretty good, although may be slow on the more crowded nights of Friday and Saturday. Food prices are about average for a nice meal, although the drink prices are a little steep for the usually city club hopper.
