After being frustrated with a hair salon that is highly rated on citysearch, I was on the prowl for a hip boutique-style hair salon that was reasonably priced and had good energy about it. Where do you find that in LA, right?! Loved OHM. Selena was great and I've received quite a few compliments on my color. Will definitely be returning. more

i stumbled across this salon a year ago after moving from the east coast w/ my hair in shambles - and i've been hooked ever since!! tiffani is wonderful - she knows exactly what i'm looking for as soon as i sit down in her chair - and i always walk out of OHM w/ an awesome cut that earns countless compliments days, weeks, months later!! the atmosphere is so inviting as well - everyone is super friendly & laid back - definitely a nice little escape that blends in perfectly w/ the eccentricity of abbot kinney/venice. i got my roommate hooked as well!! although the now-defunct 1st-time customer special is what drew me in initially, i'm totally willing to shell out the extra bucks just to let tiffani work her magic on my hair - she's a sweetheart!! more

Never go anywhere else! 2/19/2006

Trying to find a stylist who is amazing at color, skilled in cutting and just a cool person is almost impossible. Finding that Stylist in a hip, laid back salon is almost unheard of, but I found it at Ohm. My stylist Paulien rocks! I literally drive 45 minutes every 6 weeks each way to see her because I cannot find anyone who even comes close. I have always left there feeling amazing and have never received anything but compliments on how great my hair looks. Paulien and Ohm are a must visit! I've been going to Ohm for six months now - Melissa is the best, really. My sister also goes to Ohm - she has really curly hair, and is always happy with her haircut. A little too ""experimental"" 12/28/2005

Wow, I walked out paying 65 dollars for a very ""experiemental"" haircut, not by my choice, but after the salonist couldn't cut my hair straight she insisted on giving me this great cutting edge do. My bangs are now 1"" long and I look like a lollypop kid gone wrong. Thanks alot for the Fatima. I would never recommend this place. more

I am in love with Paulien 11/24/2005

I can't say enough good things about Ohm, and especially about my stylist, Paulien. The staff is incredibly friendly and kind, down to offering tea or wine while you are waiting to sit down. In a city that is known for its materialism and pushiness, the stylist ot Ohm are warm and down-to-earth. Paulien is completely lovely in every way - she listens to my requests and makes me feel beautiful. A big THANK YOU to everyone at Ohm - I recommend them whenever I can. Paulien especially. more

I love Ohm! 11/6/2005

It took me a year to work up the nerve to try a new salon after an AWFUL cut at Rudy's Barbershop, and OHM WAS GREAT! I got my hair cut by Paulein, who worked wonders on my wily, curly, out-of-control hair. Everyone there was really nice and accomodating, it wasn't crowded. My appointment was right on time. On top of that, it's in the cutest little cottage ever. I will definitely go back. A+ Pros: Skilled stylist, Easy parking, Good price more

Don't do it. 8/28/2005

Ohm really stands for ""Ohmigod, what have you done to my hair?!?"" Despite asking for very little cut off, I now have more layers in the back than I wanted. They'll probably take a year to grow out. One side is longer than the other, too. When I called to get it fixed they had the nerve to want to charge me for another cut. I'd recommend going somewhere else. more

I have naturally curly and slightly unruley hair. I went over to Ohm and linked up w/ Melissa - she was great, still is. She took good care of my fragile hair and made it look great! I would highly recommend the salon and her to anyone. Friendly, fun yet professional atmosphere in a great neighborhood! more

Great place for a new look! 6/16/2005

After trying 3 salons in the area, and being disappoined by each, I went to Ohm Salon for a new cut. I brought in a few pics to show Elle what I was looking for. She worked with the pics and the texture of my hair to give me a great new style. The price is reasonable and the atmosphere is fun. Would highly recommend. more

They don't want your business. 5/13/2005

I read such great reviews of Ohm that I called up to make an appointment. Even though I called during business hours, no one answered. So I left a message and my phone number. A few days later someone from Ohm left a message on my machine telling me to call them back. So I did -- again and again with no further response. I called 5-7 times and no one ever called me back after the first time. So I wrote an email to the owner saying that I was having trouble reaching them over the phone and that I'd like to make an appointment. No response. Even if they think they're too busy for new business, they should at least have called back. It's bad business practice and it's rude. more

Extreme hair make-over 5/1/2005

I came in to Ohm recently after having my hair colored at a salon nearbye. My roots were canary yellow and my ends were a totally different color. On a referral, I saw Melissa who really seemed to hear me out about what I wanted and even added her own ideas to fix my mess. I walked out of there in only a couple hours with the best color I've ever had - and at a very resonable price. I was truly blown away and I'm a tough person to please! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND my new favorite stylist, Melissa, and this adorable salon to anyone looking for a quality job and a chill vibe! Oh yeah, and they have free beer! more

A True Find 4/22/2005

Ohm Salon is a wonderful place to have a hair cut for men and women - whether you need just a simple cut or an entirely new re-make. It is both hip and unpretentious and the staff makes you feel comfortable and at ease. I saw El who was excellent and did a great job on my hair. The setting is also very pleasant, elegant and low-key. The price was also reasonable. There are a number of interesting restaurants, cafes and alternative design (e.g. furniture) studios in the neighbourhood which you can also visit after a great haircut. I would recommend El and the Ohm Salon to any one who wants to have a descent haircut. Pros: professionalism, creative, hip more

Ohm salon is a true find! I saw Rohanna, the owner, for a cut and color. I came in looking like a calico cat with bad stay-at-home-mom helmet hair and left looking like a hip abbot-kinney mom with shiny, fun color that was cutting edge but not too extreme. Rohanna was wonderful, she actually listened to my input, had great suggestions and gave me a great color job (the best I've had in 15 years) and a cute, funky cut that was exactly how I imagined it. Plus, you can't beat the price for the cuts. I couldn't give a higher recommendation! Pros: great color, no product pressure, relaxed atmosphere more
