Owner Shannon ODunn’s father was a painter. She has been buying art for a gallery since the 60’s, and interestingly served as the Dean of Communications and Fine Arts, made a run for elected office in two distinct La Mesa elections - once for the college’s Board of Directors, and then again for the La Mesa City Council. That ambition shows in her gallery. There are many intriguing features throughout the store that set a refined, elegant tone when you walk through the door. Plenty of seating sits in proximity to the gallery’s affectonatly titled “Queen” chair for visitors and/or serious collectors to sit and chat.
