We tried to eat at Odessa's Cafe recently. We had a very unpleasant experience...First... The people sitting next to us got up to leave after the waiter told them no checks, he looked at them like they were morons and practically ordered them to sit back down and finish their free soup only to later tell them a checks ok. The waiter gave us a bad time for asking if they served beef ribs ""beef is nasty"" ?filled with all that poyzen? and he said they had pork ribs. M friend ordered the ?sweet tea? and I asked for club soda, he gave me a sour look told me the sweet tea was a 100 year old southern recipe and I should try some. They didn?t have any ribs because they needed them all for a wedding they were catering, he then told me I should have the BEEF brisket. At this point I?ll admit, I was a little annoyed and it probably showed when I asked if we could please have our drinks and said I?d have the Mac N cheese with coleslaw and try my friend?s brisket. After another half hour the waiter brought out the brisket, set it down with some attitude and glared at me (the brisket was basically processed lunch meat smothered in BBQ sauce). My friend politely ate it and had left the restaurant before my Mac n cheese ever came out. (I saw someone going out to the catering van with a tub huge tub of it) and when it did finally come it was about a half cup of dry, nasty scrambled macaroni with oil all over it, it was obvious he had scraped what was left from the bottom of the pan and nuked it. I then asked for the third time, if I could please have something to drink and got water. I cannot tell you about the sweet tea he made such a big deal about because he never brought it. We decided to let the manager know that we had a pretty bad experience at lunch but the guy who waited on us asked us to leave and not come back. I will admit I should have left after the second red flag, but these people really need go into another line of work.
Pros: good ribs if they have them
Cons: BAD service, unprofessional attitude and atmosphere
