Ocean Buffet

I do hope that my review will be reviewed by a person of interest in this establishment. I have been a patron since you guys opened your doors, a very happy patron at that. As of lately I have been extremely disappointed with the quality of your food.The last 3 visits the food has no longer been fresh tasting. I try a bit of everything and am unable to finish any of the items I choose, just after one taste. Please get back to your origins of hot, fresh, tasty food!!!!!! Many of your patrons agree , and are choosing other buffets to dine at. Word will spread quick, so good luck. Make some positive changes!!!!! more

We have been going to Ocean Buffet for about a month now and it is becoming a weekend ritual... the Hibachi table is a standout with all the ingredients to make a perfect Mongolian buffet experience. There is sushi, although not the type that I like which is without rice, but yes they have many sushi choices and then there is the massive and fresh buffet. It includes the faves you have probably eaten at an Asian buffet and then goes beyond by including American fare and things your kids will enjoy. Pros: null Cons: null more

Brought my family to the Ocean Buffet for lunch and was a little skeptical after reading a few bad reviews, although my friends raved about it. Don't let the exterior and the landscaping scare you away. We opened the doors and it smelled wonderful inside. They did a great job converting the old "Whistle Junction, " and creating a nice tranquil asian atmosphere, complete with a waterfalls and bamboo. Now to the dining experience. The selection was amazing. Many chinese standards, (Egg Foo Young, General Tso Chicken, Beef and Broccoli, etc.) but also some great baked and fried fish, fresh muscles, peel and eat shrimp, octopus, crab, clams. There were many fresh salads to choose from, There were a few italian pasta dishes and pizza, too. There was a full sushi bar, with every kind of sushi imaginable. I will have to check it out next time, as I was too full to partake this trip. But my favorite is the hibachi grill. I selected steak, lo mein noodles, peppers, onions, 2 kinds of mushrooms, broccoli, (and these are just a few of the choices) and they grilled it up right in front of me, adding some teriyaki and special house sauce. It was so very good and so very fresh. I would have gone back to try some new concoctions, but my children were begging me to scoop them some ice cream (from the 6 flavors) . We all very much enjoyed it and will be back. My family of 5 ate for under $19 with a coupon. All I can do to respond to those who left bad reviews is that it is obvious that the folks at Ocean's Buffet got their act together since then. (and I sat at that same table near the kitchen, and it was not a big deal nor a problem...workers were barely noticeable). We went for lunch on a Thursday at about 12:30 and the place was pretty crowded. more

This place just opened, and not being a real fan of Chinese buffets, I agreed to try it because I had heard from several friends, whose opinion about restaurants I respect, that it was wonderful. There was a nice selection on the salad bar, including some unusual things like a cold calamari salad. Lots of great dishes, with abundant seafood (hence the name). All the favorite dishes like General (?) chicken, sesame chicken, peppersteak, can't remember them all-but I remember the frog's legs-great, and all the shrimp dishes were good, and the fish was great. There was also one section with mac & cheese, pizza and chicken nuggets and other things to appeal to kids. All the food was hot where it should be hot, and cold where it should be cold. A sushi chef was plying his trade, and there was a Mongolian grill where you could choose your fresh ingredients and they would cook it for you, so it wasn't just Chinese food, but foods from different cultures. Very nice desserts, as well. It was very busy when we were there, but the servers were quick and efficient. Many were oriental, which added to the dining experience for me. Best of all, the place was spotlessly clean. They completely redecorated. I'll be going again. I'm sure glad the previous buffet is gone. This is a great improvement to the area. more
