Food was expensive and terrible 6/12/2007

I should have know better than to go to a restaurant that I had never even heard of before. The drinks were made improperly after having given specific instructions. When we asked if they had bread, the waitress plainly said that it wasn't good, we said we still wanted it?which was a huge mistake. I don't understand how a restaurant could serve something like that?it as like eating an old dry sponge. I ordered the Horseradish crusted Tilapia from the waitresses recommendation. Captain D's would have been better. besides not being cooked in the middle, the dish has absolutely no flavor at all. When the check arrived, I was shocked that I alone had spent 50 dollars on the completely inadequate meal. I had to go to Wendy's on the way home. Pros: nothing Cons: expensive, bad food more

Apparently under new management 6/6/2007

They no longer have the bottomless Mimosas or Bellinis for their Brunch. The server did not know what a bellini was and had to go check that they did not have it. She was very attentive and the service was great. The food was just average. The server mentioned "we're not that fancy anymore" leading us to believe that they have a new owner. We crossed them off of our brunch list. There are just to many good places out there that have good quality for value. Pros: Nice patio, though kinda small Cons: not what we were expecting more

I hope Oakhurst Grill gets their act together again 3/28/2007

The first time I ate at Oakhurst grill was in January in '06 for brunch and it was fantastic. The next time I stopped by for dinner almost a year later with a friend from Africa and the food was just okay. Just tonight I came there around 5:30 with my two young children and I don't think I will never go back. The service was very slow even though we were just about the only table there. It took 25 minutes to get one entree after the salad. The caesar is small for the almost $6 price and I had to send it back due to dirt on the leaves. The fried chicken entree at almost $12 is just a large fried chicken patty with gravy poured on it. The potatoes and spinach were good but the biscuit was old and hard. The manager was a little defensive and offered to remember me and take care of me the next time I came in but in the end I still paid over $20 for a small caesar salad (the only thing I ate). Oakhurst Grill missed the mark totally this time. As a resident of Oakhurst, they lost a good customer. I hope they get their act together! more

Family friendly local restaurant 11/17/2006

Had dinner there again last night - With 2 kids, it is nice to find a spot where they welcome kids and make you feel at home - Our daughter knocked over her water glass (not the first time) and the manager quickly came up and said "happens to the best of us" and told her it was ok. VERY COOL He earned a customer for life with that little bit of kindness more

AMAZING FOOD, SERVICE AND ATMOSPHERE WITHOUT THE ATTITUDE 8/7/2006

I have nothing but rave things to say about this restaurant. The entrees were beautifully presented and were hearty in size. The service was impeccable and the triple chocolate cake was delactable. The wines were good, the atmosphere was great for a date, and I will definitely go back. Try the filet mignon--at less than $20 and accompanied by mashed potatoes and a salad, it was the juiciest steak at the best price. I also enjoyed the "noodle-less lasagna"! Pros: Entree selection, desserts, prices more

Oakhurt Grill has new owners. Get your old favorites while you can! 7/6/2006

Quick! go get your favorites one last time before the menu changes completly. The grill has recently been purchased and is going to be converted into a rainbow pride bar theme. The head chef has already left but that great menu remains the same during the transition. The sandwhiches are heavy and great. My favorites are the steak sandwhich and the crab cake sandwhich. yum. i will miss oakhurst grill, hopefully the new owners will keep up the tradition of good eats in that spot. Pros: inexpensive, tasty, big portions Cons: new owners, head chef gone more

Oakhurst Grill is a jewel!! 4/12/2006

The oakhurst Grill is a delight. The food is excellent-the appetizers are all delicious, the soups are fantastic-the tomato and goat cheese is my favorite!, and the lamb is so tender it just falls off the bone! They also have nice fish, delicious crab cakes, and scrumptous chicken, plus some yummy pastas. We found the service to be great and the food comes out promptly. Their brunch is also really good, with any items served with a mimosa or bloody mary for only an extra dollar or two-totally worth it! If you're looking for some place new and charming with great food, for less than most of the trendy, overcrowded Buckhead restaurants, you should go to the Oakhurst Grill! more

Brunch 11/20/2005

Great place for brunch...the value and taste is worth it. The ribs were good. Location is a little out of ways tho. There seemed to be a number of young married couples with babies and/or dogs...a little annoying. Pros: Food Cons: Finding it more

Skip It 11/18/2005

With so many other great resturants nearby, I suggest you skip the Oakhurst Grill...unless you like to eat mediocre food. more

Finally Arrived! 7/25/2005

After some sputtering, the new synergy of Baddabing! and Oakhurst Grill has finally delivered on its promise and given Oakhurst a desperately-needed family restaurant. The decor is so well-done that it can be a date place, too -- very good colors and lighting. The outdoor seating is informal and crucial on beautiful days. Food is very good, with only a couple dishes not up to par, and atmosphere is extremely friendly. Pros: good food, fun atmosphere/staff, good parking Cons: service can be slow, frequently "out" of.. more

  • The Scene
A long, wooden bar, Crayola red and yellow brick walls, mini fountains and hand-painted tables welcome equally eclectic Oakhurst diners who saunter over to this laid-back locale. But the kid-friendly atmosphere and central location truly provide neighborhood appeal. Amiable servers make up for a leisurely kitchen.

    The Food
Aptly named, the Oakhurst Grill sears healthy portions of chicken, pork, steak and seafood with a little New Orleans fire. Plump crab cakes have just the right amount of kick from a mango Scotch bonnet sauce. The horseradish-crusted tilapia sandwich has no signs of a greasy batter or tartar sauce drowning. Instead, a crispy filet is so large it barely balances between slices of sourdough and a dab of remoulade. For diners who want more Asian than Louisiana cuisine, grilled salmon pasta features stir-fried vegetables and buckwheat soba noodles tossed in a flavorful ginger peanut sauce.
