A mid-town bar, in the midst of Tourist Hell... but it manages to stay unassuming, friendly, and reasonable (for the area). Guinness, Harp, the usual Irish fare on tap. Helpful waitresses with authentic Irish brogues, decent food with 5-appetizer platter choices, and what more could you want? \r \r Two levels: upstairs they don't mind you shifting tables a bit to accommodate your group. Downstairs seating is more limited. Warning: Upstairs closes around midnight, so if you're a big group planning late-night drinking, this might not be the place. We visited NYC from Oklahoma last weekend, and stayed across the street from O'Briens. We ended up there every night after long days of playing tourists. The staff was friendly, burgers and bar bites were great, and prices were very reasonable. They were willing to change one TV for me to watch the Oklahoma football game Saturday night, and we spent the whole evening there. The best thing is, after we forgot our camera with all of our pictures at the table, they kept it and when we called from Oklahoma, they were willing to ship it to us at no cost, in order to make sure we got our camera safely. \r \r We were very impressed with O'Briens and will make it our ""home base"" for all future NYC trips! like going to O'Brien's because of the atmosphere and there is always good food. But in the middle of the night it starts to get full with drunk people. more

This bar is so welcoming and cozy. We went upstairs as an after work party on a Thursday evening. we had a waitress from Ecuador who was so friendly and the service was great. \r The hamburgers here are great and the beer was cold and frosty. i will be going back to O Briens and recommend that you should check it out because here they value you and you are not like just a paying customer like other bars in Times Square who only see you as a tourist and only want your money. \r So O Briens is my new hang out after work...... Me and a few friends went to O'Briens last Sat nite(2/10) on recommendation of an other friend. We got seated upstairs which they said was brand new. Its a beatiful bar,atmosphere was wonderful.....food was great and the service was good. After dinner went downstairs to the main bar which was pretty busy. They have a good jukebox and we found some great music for the night. All in all a great time was had by all and will definitely be back next time in city.Highly recommend this place if you want some good easy food and some fun afterwards.....even had some girls dancin on the bar....we didnt join in this time..maybe next.....
