As a recent graduate I feel compelled to let everyone know that this school is a waste of money. Go to International Nannies Association and find a way to get certified without the expense and time spent in a school where you learn next to nothing. Their instructors are very unprofessional and the owners are even worse. They yell at you in front of the rest of the class, talk about students behind their backs in the hallway so everyone can hear. They can even diagnosis your mental issues. Personally, I feel the owners need to sell the school and retire. They are very good at bringing down low self esteems after they convince you their school is the perfect place for you. All they really care about is the almighty dollar they can get from you.\r Very unprofessional people. more

I feel compelled to share about NW Nannies! I use them for overnight get away's! they are so affordable.. The nannies are amazing, smart, and filled with ideas and energy! I can call last minute and they can accomidate my scheduel! I would definatly use them over and over again! Pros: quality nannies, great customer service Cons: nothing! more

I don't usually pay for childcare as my family is closeby. However, having just had my third need for emergency care, I must say how grateful I am that Northwest Nannies is here to help my family.This last time, as in the prior two cases, my needs were met immediately in a helpful and caring manner. The nanny coordinator found someone within the hour. The person sent to watch my boys was a graduate of the nanny training program. She was knowledgeable, caring and incredibly helpful. She came with activities for my older child who now wants his nanny friend to come back. soon to play. When my husband and I returned home, the kids had been bathed and were asleep and the house was picked up. Even the laundry I had left out had been folded and put away. Being a first time mom, I needed a nanny to help me care for my new son after just being released from the hospital after his birth. I was referred to the agency through the hospital. I contacted them from my hospital bed and requested a nanny for the same day...experience with new borns, professional, knowlegdeable etc. The placement manager was extrodinarily helpful and pleasant and friendly and was able to find me a nanny that day to cover the whole week and was everything I was seeking in a nanny. She was a graduate from their college and had so much knowledge and was able to teach me about nursing, resting etc. I would recommend this agency to anyone reserved about hiring a nanny to care for their loved ones. I have used Northwest Nannies for over a year. Every nanny I have had has been wonderful. I have a challenging three year old and a one year old. The nannies come with activities and fun things to do. The staff has been very helpful, especially with last minute placements. I couldn't be happier and would highly recommend this agency. more

We used 4 different students from this nanny school and each one was bad bad bad. They were rude, untrustworthy and had terrible manners. One of them even brought a book to read while my daughter was playing at the park. The customer service is very bad, the person who owns the agency only cares about the fee charged and is very very rude. It is clear to me that the school is just a way to make money and they have no interest in real childcare or in helping families to find trustworthy and excellent childcare. Cons: Do not use this service ever!! more

I reserved a babysitter three weeks in advance for three days in a row while my family was in Portland. Although I called to confirm that someone was coming twice, but nobody showed up. I called the evening answering service three times and nobody returned my call. The next day I called Northwest Nannies and they gave me a big run around. They claim that the answering service never contacted them (the answering service claims that they called three times) and the sitter went to the wrong hotel and had my cell phone number wrong so she could not call me. They also informed me that the sitter that was scheduled for the next day was in the hospital and they were having trouble finding someone. Needless to say, I was fuming and insisted that someone show up, even if it was the director after the fisasco the previous night. They ended up sending the temporary nanny scheduler. I will not ever use this service again. more
