I never thought it was fair to have a single cable company in one town, but with competition from satellite companies, I guess they can't call it a true monopoly. With the exception of you typical cable prices, the service is okay. When we first signed up, they messed up our bill every month for about 3 or 4 months. We were really starting to get tired of calling them with their mistakes, but they finally got things taken care of. We haven't really had to deal with them since then. Overall, I'd say they are your pretty typical cable company. more

Only Cable provider in town. 8/20/2005

Northland Cable has the monopoly on cable in town and they definately know it. Before satellite became a big contender it was difficult to get them to come out and do any repairs should you have a problem. Now that there are other options besides cable they are a bit better, but not much. Recently I called about ordering fast access internet and the employee told me that it was $24.05 which is a good price - but because I was not a cable subscriber they were going to charge me an extra $10 per month! Talk about a racket! I told them maybe the phone company would offer me a better deal - and they did. more
