I took my Dodge Magnum to this shop for a new engine. I really care about my car and I want it to last a long time so I wanted to take it to a shop that cares about their work. After calling around a lot of places this shop seemed to have the most knowledge and what they offered was definitely the best quality. I had my car towed in for free and they gave me a free loaner car to drive so I didn't have to car-pool with my husband anymore. The loaner car definitely wasn't my Magnum but it worked and I can't complain. My car was ready to pick up about two weeks later. When I picked my car up the owner spent almost 20 minutes with me going over the work that was done and giving me helpful tips on better car care. It was explained to me why my previous engine failed, that on-time oil changes are a necessity for Dodge engines (they have a ""sludge"" problem), to have yearly cooling system check-ups and that their shop offers free engine check-ups. I am very satisfied with the work and I am very grateful I found this shop. I feel safe knowing that they worked on my car and I would recommend this shop to anyone. more

Avoid This Place 3/5/2013

I found North Geogia Automotive on craigslist advertising the cheapest motor that I had found. I called the Automotive shop and spoke to Shawn who stated that he was the owner. I had my dad on 3 way so that he could verify the information and the work that was to be done to my car. Shawn presented himself to be a very nice person as he was trying to get business from me to install the motor in my car. He stated to me that he could pick my car up on the same day that the repairs needed to be done and that I could get my car back in one week and that he would come to pick up my car anywhere in the state of georgia and that the towing was free from his company. My car was picked up by Gibbs Towing and Automotive Service and the driver who called himself (Twiggs) called before he came and picked up my vehicle. A week later I received a call from Shawn stating that I had more repairs to be done to my car which was an additional $300.00 towards the $1,695.00 that he quoted me on the car and more

I got a custom 350 conversion and a fresh paint job on my Oldsmobile Cutlass supreme. The owner knows a lot about conversions and the paint never looked so good. I am very happy with the work and they saved me a lot of money. I am going to use this shop from now on. more

My transmission went out and after calling around for a few days I found North Georgia Automotive. They had my car towed in and three days later I was picking it up because it was ready. They didn't change the price on me or try and make me pay for extra stuff and I got a good warranty. It was a simple process of getting what I needed and them keeping their word. I am a big fan of this repair shop. more

DO NOT TRUST THEM! PAID FOR SERVICES THAT WERE NEVER ACTUALLY DONE!\r \r I brought my vehicle here after a car accident. The insurance company paid for multiple things to be done. NG Auto received payment from them for the repairs and I have discovered that many of the repairs they were paid to do were never done. The repairs they did do were poor quality. My bumper has a gap under the front head light and the fender is now cracking again. I attempted to resolve this issue with NG Auto by having them issue a refund so I could have this done properly. They claimed no responsibility. I'm a young female and was clear deceived by a sleazy mechanic. DO NOT USE NG AUTO. Plenty of other mechanics in Acworth area. more

Thank you again!! 5/30/2012

I had my Cadillac worked on at North GA back in January 2011 and it is still running strong. Since then I have had the engine in my husbands Ranger replaced and several small jobs done to vehicles in the family. This shop is very busy but they are upfront and they have always done the work as promised and I have always gotten a warranty to back it up. I appreciate this shop so much because I can't afford to keep pouring money into my cars.Thank you again!!! more

WORST PLACE TO GET YOUR CAR FIXED EVER! 5/21/2012

I brought my car to North Georgia Automotive and it took weeks to get it back when I was promised three days. As Soon as I got the car back I had major issues. Instead of Sean taking the time to understand what my problem was he just said leave the car and that it was not the work that they did. The next time I came to pick of my car I took the car and had it for 3 days before I had more major issues. Sean was very vulgar on the phone about how it was not his fault. The problem was that I did not say it was the fault of North Georgia Automotive but that I needed help to get my car working. The Owner has terrible customer service and he is to busy to even help his customers out the right way, as I was told. You get better help from McDonalds in the h00d! I would not recommend this place because if you have issues with your car he will not take the time to try and find out what is wrong. He does not want to help, he just wants money. You can tell that North Georgia Automotive does not care about their promises or customers. I have to echo what L said ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE AND WORK EVER DONE ON ANY VEHICLE. So if you take your car to North Georgia Automotive it is with risk. I took my car to another place with great customer and automotive service. Imagine that! more

THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO FOR CAR PROBLEMS 4/23/2012

You will only be sorely disappointed. The owner SEAN is a rude arrogant person with a personality like a timing belt. He DID NOT give a loaner as pointed out on his web site. Car has had nothing but HUGE problems since picking it up from the shop. While we did not go there for personality reasons, this jerk has no people skills and from the looks of things, not much skill in major car repairs either. GO TO LOCAL AT YAHOO....yea, there you will get the real story on reviews. We have all paperwork and took the car to a REPUTABLE MECHANIC.......boy, SEAN messed up. We went there because he was close to our home, but it's well worth the effort to drive out of your way to get things done RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO. more

They are the best! 1/11/2012

I had the engine replaced in my 2002 Cadillac back in July 2011. I have nothing but praise for this shop and their employees. My car died 4th of July weekend. I gave them a call and they picked it up for free and gave me a loaner to drive until my car was repaired. He gave me a date on when the job would be completed and it was. He even allowed me to keep the loaner an additional week until I secured the funds to pay him. Brought it back after 2 weeks for a courtesy inspection and I have to say that I've experience no problems which my engine. Even sent a co-work to him to replace her engine. For the price and quality of work this shop does I don't know why a few folks are wining and complaining. He even found small minor things that need attention and he only charged me for parts. I rather take my vehicle to North Georgia Automotive than to Capital Cadillac for repairs! Kudos guys!!!! more

Can't say thank you enough!! 12/5/2011

The engine in my Magnum blew and I took it to a shop that just charged me $300 to tell me what I already knew. I assumed this whole situation of repairing my car was going to be a disaster. After searching for a shop to help me with an engine I found North GA Auto that had advertised as being a Dodge Magnum specialist. They offered free towing & a free car to drive on top of several extras they were already doing to the engine. I decided to get my car fixed there. Finally a decision my wife agreed with! It took about 2 1/2 weeks to get my car back and it was worth the wait. When I picked my car up they offered me a courtesy 2 week check up on the engine. It's nice to know that people still take pride in their work. It has been several months since I got my engine replaced and I haven't had any trouble. I can't thank this company enough for being honest and for putting my wife and I at ease when it comes to car troubles. more

Good and Honest Mechanic, finally!! 11/28/2011

I took my 2001 Cadillac DeVille to have a motor replaced. I have waited six months to write this review because I wanted to make sure that the company is as good as I thought it was. Previous to going to North Georgia, I took my car to two other shops to have work done. Between the misdiagnosing and improper repair on my vehicle both at a dealer and an independent shop; it cost me over $4000. I finally found North Georgia Automotive, apparently specialists on Cadillac's and they put a great motor in my car. They offered me an upgrade on my motor and I spent a little more than half the money I already spent, but received a motor that runs flawlessly. In the six months since my engine was replaced, they offered a courtesy reinspection after two weeks that I gladly took them up on and it checked out fine. Approximately two months ago, I noticed a small oil leak and called them. They asked me to check the oil level to make sure I wasn't low and come by as soon as possible. It turn more

BEST REPAIR EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!! 11/16/2011

I had a terrible experience at another shop trying to replace my Northstar engine in my Cadillac. I was jerked around for weeks, and when they finally finished the job wasn't done right and I was out of a big chunk of money. Determined to get it done right, I found North Georgia Automotive. Shawn was very informative and told me what had gone wrong, and put in a very good used motor for half the price the other shop tried charging me. He towed the vehicle for free to his shop, and also gave me a free car to drive while he worked on mine. The work was done in less than a week!! I only wish I had found North Georgia sooner! more

Great service at great price 11/14/2011

I have had two engines and a transmission replaced here. They aren't your typical repair shop that buys engines from a junkyard and slaps it in your car, you get more than your money's worth. They have the whole car!! They helped me out with a mirror and new interior as well on my suburban and help me with all my vehicle needs. I won't go anywhere else. more

FRAUD AND BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! 8/25/2011

FRAUD, FRAUD, FRAUD....I ordered a part from Matt which I had shipped to Florida. Matt lied when he told me that part was good before I purchased it with my credit card. When I received the part I open the box and what I received was a worthless piece of trash. I called and spoke to Shaun (the Owner) whom I sent pictures of what I received. He was rude, nasty and refused give a refund. I would not do business with these people. more

I am from Kentucky originally, lived in Atlanta for 3 years, and now have moved back to Kentucky, but I still come down to visit. On one of my trips, the transmission on my car let go on the way into town right down the road from this shop. Their tow truck driver was happening past me and stopped to help me, just to be nice. He ended up towing me into the shop just to see what happened.\r \r When I found out it was my transmission, my heart fell into the pit of my stomach. I was only down for a long weekend and it looked like I was gonna spend it in a Motel 6 waiting on my car, alienating my friends for rides. To my surprise and delight, they told me that they had a used one in stock they would install in my car for under $1000. They also were going to lend me a car for free (with a deposit toward the work being done) (YAY!! NO RENTAL!!) and they would have it done by Saturday afternoon so I could get home in time.\r \r OMG!!! Guardian angels must've been looking out for me. I got to go se more

A well deserved 5-star rating. 3/4/2011

First of all, I?d like to say that I was extremely skeptical, as I am of all automotive services. I have been a loyal customer to a local shop that has always been honest, had the best prices, and done me right. Shaun at North Georgia Auto was able to quote me $500 savings on a significantly better used transmission. My regular mechanic wasn?t able to find anything even close in mileage. Still cautious, I drove to the shop to check it out and met Shaun and the staff. Feeling at ease, I dropped my car off the next day. A major perk is that N GA Auto has loaner cars free of charge (deposit required which goes toward the bill). You won?t be driving anything fancy, but the cars will get you where you need to go. I had a little issue with my loaner and Shaun swapped it out right away. \r Next, Shaun called me and told me that my transmission mounts were broken, and it would cost around $200 more bucks.
