Nockamixon State Park

Just tried to attempt to book a kayak rental. Our friends have kayaks of their own, and we would have liked to join them after work to kayak til sunset. They mentioned other friends had rented here before in a similar situation. I called and asked what the price would be for a return after close of business-i was rudely told that wasn't possible, and the young kid hung up on me! I called back, and got someone who seemed older, maybe the kid's dad. I complained about being hung up on, he laughed and said of course we can't take boats back after hours, we're closed (raising his voice at this point). as if no one had ever done any type of rental (like a car, as opposed to a 200 dollar kayak) with a return after COB. i was just trying to have a nice time with friends and tried again to work something out, but he hung up on me as well. will recommend all of my friends to avoid these belligerent types and do business with people who conduct themselves with civility. more

The boat rental part of this park offers paddle boats and canoes for rent seasonally. The rates are average for this area, there is plenty of parking and usually plenty of boats. However the park itself is not to be missed. The marina offers a lovely spot to look at the boats, picnic, launch your own boat (there are several boat launch areas in the park) or just hike the trails in the park. There is lots of wildlife to spot and plenty of picnic areas. There is great fishing here as well, and the lake is large and clean. There are huge picnic areas available for individual picnics or group events. This is a great spot to go wander around the country side in Bucks County. more
