I love it here! 5/29/2008

I have been out of the country for a while and found this great new restaurant that i just need other people to know about! Noble food & wine!! I have been wanting to go somewhere new and i am a HUGE wine fan and this place is just AMAZING. Great selection of terriffic wines. We were in the restaurant practically all night sampling different kinds! The food was a perfect pairing and the staff couldn't have been nicer to us. I absolutely recommend this restaurant. Pros: Wine wine wine wine wine! more

Good place 4/11/2008

I found the restaurant through citysearch when looking for restaurants in Soho. I have to say that i am a little surprised at some of the reviews. The downstairs dining area is lovely. It is below street level, but i dont see why then it would be compared to a basement. The food was great. I had the short ribs and my friend had the chicken. both were really great. I am kind of surprised at the reviews for the food as everything we had from the salad, entrees, to desert was very tasty. Pros: Great Wine List & Great Food Cons: the music was too loud more

NOT VeRY gOod 4/6/2008

Went there a few days ago and was terribly disappointed with both food and service. The decor is sort of weird and stuffy. Maybe with better ventilation they can fix this basement feel to it. Pros: neighborhood Cons: everything else more

Best new bar in Nolita 3/3/2008

I went into Noble this past Friday after a harrowing, loud, garrish experience at R Bar with some colleagues. The bar was quiet, dark, and had hot brunette behind the bar - all good in my book. It is nice to finally have a quiet haven in the neighborhood that can pour you a stiff drink and feed you food not usually found in these parts. Didn't get a chance to try anything off of the menu as we came in a little late - but I will definitely return and have already recommended it to friends. I'm usually leery of empty bars on a Friday night, but this turned out to be a pleasant suprise and I hope it is quite a while before the hipster riffraff take it over. Pros: Quiet, melow, not irritatingly chic more

Perfect Valentine's Day 2/15/2008

Since I had a perfect experience here, I feel compelled to defend this place! The service, from start to finish, was impeccable. The host was friendly and gracious, the waitress was efficient and very nice; even the bus boys were friendly! I liked the space a lot: kind of a sunken basement with dark wood paneling and high ceilings (although this led to strange acoustics). The lighting was perfect and romantic. The dining area was not large, yet you didn't feel like you were eating on top of other diners. Interesting and diverse clientele. The food was a bit overpriced for what it was, but it was tasty, nonetheless - especially the meaty crabcakes and bass. The wine list was impressive and had tastes and prices for everyone. Lastly, our check was brought out by a runner before the dessert we had ordered; our waitress got a bit upset and gave us the (heavenly) bittersweet tart for free. A perfect meal! I hope they stick around and can overcome some of the bad press they've gotten. Ignore the bad reviews and give it a try please! Pros: Friendly Service, Beautiful Space, Delicious Dessert Cons: A tad overpriced more

Zagat's Top 10 WORST Restaurants of 2007 2/5/2008

I have to agree with Zagat's on this one. Pros: You can always get a table Cons: You can always get a table more

I don't understand all the bad reviews 1/21/2008

I went here on Friday night because I could get a last minute reservation. I had some concerns after reading the negative reviews. My experience here was so different from the other reviews on this site, I felt compelled to write my own. Pros: Low-key atmosphere, not too crowded, great wine list Cons: Not enough people -- you should go! more

Very Disappointing 12/11/2007

I was very disappointed with my experience at Noble for a myriad of reasons. Aside from the wine, this place has virtually nothing going for it. The decor was dark and uninspired. I had the pork chop which was dry and simply boring on a somewhat boring menu. The server was efficient but untrained on the menu and wine which I found frustrating. I also felt claustrophobic in the dark hole they call the dining room. With so many other choices in the city, I say bypass Noble. Pros: bar Cons: food, ambience more

Very Poor Service, Very Poor Food 11/18/2007

Yikes! Please don't bother with this overpriced pretentious mess. Our party waited for one and a half hours to get our food last night, we didn't even get bread or water during the wait. And once we did get our meals, most were disappointing and unmemorable creations lacking flavor and finesse. Who needs to pay these obnoxiously inflated prices for overcooked and underflavored food, when there are many high quality restaurants within a 5 minute walk from here? We were here for a birthday party and the birthday girl left in tears. Simply awful. Pros: pretty room Cons: painfully slow service, amature food more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS 10/24/2007

Please don't waste your time here. There are no Lafites and Margeauxs as promised. The staff is ridiculously ignorant on what they DO have, and the food is probably the most inept around. Go to nearby Peasant or Public - and for the same price, you get a whole lot more. Pros: umm... Cons: food more
