Nippon Restaurant

My husband brought me to Nippon Sushi about 6 years ago when we were first dating. His parents had been patrons there since before he was born. The owner, sushi chefs, and waiters are all great, always polite, and we've never had a bad service during all of our years eating there. I've enjoyed everything they've ever served me. They have the freshest fish and shell fish every day. Even their oranges and produce tastes amazingly fresh and delicious. In fact for desert I often order just sliced oranges- it's a nice refreshing way to end your meal. My favorite roll is the Studio Roll; it's a rice paper cut roll, with sweet shrimp, crab, scallops and cucumbers topped with smelt eggs. Usually when we go there I order at least 3 of these rolls alone! Besides that their appetizers are great, miso soup to die for, and their specialty hand rolls are unlike any I've ever tasted. This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant, in fact I insist on going there on my brithday every year. :) more

I am a fanatic for great customer service and Nippon is by far the best sushi restaurant with the nicest---and I mean nicest people around. I have been going there for years and have always loved the atmosphere, food and service, but tonight they blew me away with their loyalty and genuine care for their customers. I ordered the sweet and sour shrimp dinner entree ( which is very delicious) but was accidently given the sweet and sour chicken plate. I commented this to my fiance but didn't want to make a big deal out of it so didn't say anything. The great sushi chefs at the sushi bar heard me and got the sweet and sour shrimp plate delivered to me in very little time without me even asking! They were so caring and it really meant so much to me that they are in tune with their customers and go out of their way to satisfy our needs. Thank you Nippon! It's nice to go to a place with genuinely nice people who care about their customers!!! Pros: You will never find a better sushi restaurant with better service than this place! Cons: None!!! more

I have been eating at Nippon since I was 5 years old. (My mother started me early on an exciting but expensive habit!) The chefs are extremely skilled at their craft, the food is to die for, and the staff is the friendliest you can find around. It's not the cheapest sushi around, but who wants cheap raw fish??? Try their baby lobster roll, or the spicy tuna sashimi. (My husband will never be the same after the spicy tuna sashimi!) Once you eat at Nippon, you'll never go anywhere else. It's like a second home to me! Pros: Everything but parking. Cons: Parking can get a little busy on weekends, but every restaurant around has the same problem! more

I hate going to over crowded sushi bars...getting slow service and paying too much....So I was happy when I stumbled upon Nippon...me being vegetarian was glad when I walked in and was not overwhelmed by fish smell....I ordered the vegetarian meal and pretty soon my table was covered...there was so much food I took half of it home...My boyfriend likes to go there cause of their Asahi.... Pros: quietl, but not too quiet, good food reasonable prices Cons: no parking lot...street parking more

Nippon is one of my favorite sushi restaurants in town. The staff is very friendly. They make me feel welcome every time I see them. Their yellowtail and salmon sushi is consistently delicious. Their entrees are also very good across the board. They have a very tasty dressing on their salads, which I get every time I go. It's hardly ever very crowded in there, but you always see the same locals there. (That's always a good sign.) Enjoy yourselves! It's a great place to go. Pros: Great food. Reasonably priced. Good variety. Good for groups, but don't go too big. Cons: I wish they had beer on tap. more

Nippon has great lunch deals for those working in the Toluca Lake/ Burbank area. You can get a lunch box with any combination of the following: teriyaki, sashimi, california roll and tempura. The service is always great and the food is DELICIOUS! If you're going in big groups, call ahead and warn them. more

When you can't smell the fish.....that means its very fresh very good susi. Try thier studio roll its the only one like it in town. more
