Pull on over when you see the cows and the sign for Nicasio Valley Cheese on the gorgeous Nicasio Valley Road. The creamery, at the Lafranchi Ranch, makes eight farmstead cheeses from their own cows milk herd of 400. It's free to stop in and taste side by side their cheeses: herbaceous Foggy Morning with Basil & Garlic, aged Formagella, soft rind Loma Alta, Nicasio Reserve and aged Swiss mountain cheese, washed rind Nicasio Square, and San Geronimo, similar to a fontina. They sell onsite all of their cheeses, along with a selection of locally made preserves and accompaniments.
