I came in here for a simple goldfish for my kids, But was amazed at how helpful the employes were. Store is very clean and very well kept. Was an overall great experience and will definitely come back. more

I've been involved with this family owned shop for 12+ years. The service you get here is unmatched by any chain stores, which are only in it for your money. Niagara aquarium isn't only about money but building relationships with it's customers. I've seen many of the same people and talked to many people who say they are so loyal to Niagara because of the friendly and knowledgeable staff. You wouldn't see a worker from some of the bigger chain stores cary a 40lb bag of dog food out to your car for you, or in some cases stop over to your house if you were having problems with your fish tank. The owner took the store over from his father and continues to make daily improvements to the store making it more than just a shopping trip, the place is like a museum with all the gadgets and displays throughout. I've met the owner and his family and they are wonderful people who care about their employees, customer and the success of their business. There's so much more good things to say more

I have been coming to this shop since i was a little kid. The management is very friendly and always greet me and my family when we walk in. I like the fact that they are privately owned and really try to get to know their customers unlike almost every chain store. Prices seem to be average with most things but when it came time to purchasing my aquarium they were by far the cheapest around. I plan on shopping her for many years to come more

The employee who "assisted" us was extremely rude and really didn't know their fish. She tried to tell us that a fish swam into the filtration output tube and refused to sell it to us. Barb, who "helped" us, constantly lectured us, complained to her friend about us (while we were 2 feet away - yeah, hushed voice didn't really cover it), and then questioned every one of our choices. The prices are quite high relative (on the order of 2 times as much) to other comparable stores, although the selection is quite good. They carry a lot of artificially enhanced (injected) fish - which are pretty, but may not sit well with some fish lovers. At least 12-14 dead fish throughout the tanks and Barb didn't seem to care when we told her. Overall a very bad experience. We will never shop here again. more

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. Do NOT shop here unless you enjoy being treated like a low-life moron and want to spend twice as much for your supplies and fish. Elmwood pet Supply, on the other hand, had friendly, knowledgeable staff, an excellent selection, and the fish were about 1/2 the price. more

I go to this pet shop all the time I like the feel of the place. It is a nice small family shop and if you actually take the time to talk to the sales person they actually help you out a lot. I went in for some substrate for my lizard and had 2 20lb bags of walnut shells they asked me at the counter whats it for. I told them it was for my lizard and the cashier said if I want I can wait and they will see if they have a bulk bag in the back they did it saved me 20 dollars. Another time when I went in there I was buying fish for my first tank and I was about 12 yrs old I purchased my fish from him and the manager when it had the face lift threw in a few free things I needed that I didnt know. Like I said great place awesome people I do miss them since I moved to W. Seneca. more

I've been a customer of this store for almost 40 years. They were one of the first pet stores in the Country. these guys have nice fish! \r \r Keep up the good work! more

Another favorite privately owned pet store I like to visit when in the area. Not that I mind some chain stores, but private owned surpase those by a mile. The staf is very knowledgable and friendly. The place is clean and I like the fact they don't sell any puppies or kittens especially with the SPCA located right up the street. They still manage to stay in business without exploiting animals for cash. Everybody needs a pet store "where everybody knows your name" when you walk in. Believe me, regular customer get perks unlike the chain stores. I love that they appreciate my business and show it! more

The folks at Niagara Aquarium have always been able to help with any questions I've had. The store has anything you need for all types of pets (Ferrets, exotic birds, reptiles, saltwater fish, fresh water fish, rabbits, hamsters, Guinea pigs). This shop is family owned and has been around a long time. They really know how to treat their customers. The prices here are very good too. more

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Excellent selection to choose from for all types of pet supplies. BEAUTIFUL fish rooms. The new saltwater room is a MUST SEE. The kids had a blast there and even got to pet some critters and feed some fish. We will definitely go back.p.s. In the summer the pond section is awesome. more

This is a great place to buy a pet and an even better one to get pet supplies. Universally, every staff member I've interacted with has seemed to genuinely care about animals--even if the animal in question is merely a tropical fish. The place has also undergone a good deal of renovation over recent years. While it still has the ubiquitous pet shop odor, it's neat and clean and generally well organized. The prices seem to be a mixed bag. While there are some things I've been able to find cheaper at chains like Petco or Petsmart, there are others that they sell for lower prices. All things being equal, I prefer to buy here because of the people. PROS: Great people, great facility CONS: Pricing can be mixed more
