New York International Shipping

I can't recommend NY International Shipping to anyone apart from a worst enemy. \r \r The initial consultation with Wayne was great - very positive and it looked very professional. The expectation was set around how long it would take to arrive in Australia as I needed all of our household items to arrive quickly and were happy to pay for it. He explained that it was easy and that they did a lot of shipments to Australia without any problems. \r \r Unfortunately, the rest of the experience with NY International Shipping was terrible. Actually I’ll admit the guys who came to pick up our boxes was very pleasant despite being 3 hours late and missing our lift booking, and they worked quickly and efficiently one there.\r \r My first encounter with the person handling my case (Theresa) set the tone - her first words were ""I'm so stressed - I've got so much to do"". There was no communication from the company and I had to push the entire process otherwise our pickup would never have happened. There were no phone calls or even emails sent without me having to send one or call first. The customer service side of the company is terrible, and there is no way to escalate. And forget about calling after 5pm and getting any answers. \r \r The invoicing from the company was awful, and I ended up having to pay over $140 in bank fees due to 2 incorrect invoices and threats of delays in shipment if payments weren't made in time. This is aside from the fact that the cost was 50% more than the initial quote and there were multiple addons to the initial cost.\r \r I was advised that by air the shipment would arrive within 5 days. Our boxes hadn't even left their warehouse in New York after 2 weeks. They arrived on July 26 at our apartment, which was 23 days after pickup. This left us without any clothes apart from what we had in our suitcases for over 3 weeks, let alone our baby gear, stroller and bassinet.\r \r Needless to say, moving is already stressful enough without having to call the shipping company at least once a day in different time zones to get an update and push for our belongings to arrive. Moving with a baby back to Sydney was incredibly stressful, but my biggest mistake in the whole process was choosing this company to look after our items. This was a completely different experience to the one I had going over to the US when our boxes arrived quickly and without fuss.\r \r Please reconsider before using this company - there are better options out there. more

I am writing this review in regards to my recent move from NYC to London. From the first phone call with Adam to the delivery at my final destination, the professionalism by the office team and the moving crew both in the US and in London was excellent. After I supplied Adam with a list of items he gave me a reasonable estimate for shipment. He followed up with emails and phone calls, making sure I was receiving all the latest information from him and guiding me through booking and filling out the required forms. Valerie from the Logistics Dept. followed up with me regarding booking, deposit, final payments, documentation, scheduling pickup and transit time of my shipments in addition to answering my questions and assuring me that everything will be taken care of. Valerie’s and Adam’s attentiveness was present with every email and phone call. They made sure all the information from booking to invoices to scheduling pickup and delivery and everything in between was accurate and up to date. The moving crew took care of all my items, making certain that everything was where it was supposed to be and safe & secure. Once arrived in London, my items were delivered safely to my home and delivered to the appropriate area of the house. Throughout the entire process of my move, the staff calmed my nerves and assured me they were doing everything as professionally as possible. Their professionalism, knowledge, friendliness, and dedication are just some of the qualities I have experienced first hand from this great company. I’m sure there is much more behind the scenes that occurs to make each and every customer is treated like the best. I would be more than happy to recommend NY International Shipping to friends and colleagues. Keep up the great work! more

I had a very positive experience with NY International Shipping. When I moved from N.J. to Paris they were efficient and expedient with my entire move. They worked non-stop packing up our cargo and were very helpful during the entire transition. I had some issue's whilst I was in France and David and his team worked with extreme care and compassion during this difficult time for myself and my family. I have to be honest they are hands down the best moving company we've ever worked with. I normally don?t write reviews - however I had such a great experience, I feel it?s only fair to let others seeking movers know how great this company is. Not only did they handle my move, they did not charge me an ?arm and a leg? in pricing and accommodated all of my needs. I didn?t have to worry about one thing! The movers arrived at my apartment and packed my ENTIRE place! They put it in the truck, shipped it to Scotland, unloaded my stuff, set up my new apartment and took the unpacked boxes away!(NOT one thing arrived broken)They were professional, friendly, and prompt! I highly recommend using them, you will definitely not regret it.. when booking your move ask for Wayne Townsend he was amazing to work with! A+ more

We had a great experience with NY International Shipping. We worked with Wayne, who was always prompt, professional and available for any and all questions we had along the way. We moved our stuff from New York to Australia, the movers were professional and efficient. The only problems we had was on the Australian end with a independant shipping company requesting an additional fee to deliver the goods to our door. When we contacted Wayne, he assured us he would take care of it and he did! Our stuff arrived a bit later than expected, but to no fault of this company. When it came it was all in great shape. This was by far the worst move I ever had to go through. I am an international professional (United Nations), who has enjoyed many smooth moves between countries already. I selected this company due to its positive online ratings. The interactions with NY International Shipping were positive up until the moment they had endorsed my cheque. As soon as NY International Shipping had received my money nothing worked any more. All contact stopped, nobody returned my calls and the movers didn't even show up on the agreed moving date. When I called to find out where the movers were (and finally managed to speak to somebody after many attemps) I was merely told that there had been a last minute change and that I should take the next day of work off too to wait for the movers. The person I talked to at NY International Shipping did not even present their excuses for the major inconvenience caused. At that point in time it was obviously too late to change moving company but I already saw further trouble coming. For weeks my boxes were not shipped since the company apparently noticed that they needed additional information from me 2 weeks after having picked up my boxes by which time I had already left my old job and the country; they contacted my old email address instead of using my new contact information in France, which I had provided to them and which they had obviously never entered into their system. I eventually received my shipment, though with many weeks of delay, in France. Considering their lack of organization all along they way, I considered this close to a miracle. Frankly, by then, I had already given up on my shipment and on the $2,500 I had paid. I should add that the way I was talked to each time I called the company once my money had been cashed in by them was the rudest I have been talked to in my 6 years in NYC. I am writing this a year after my experience with NY International Shipment since I received an email from them today asking me to rate them....a year later I have not forgotten this horrible move; and never will!!! more

NY International is a company that prides itself with bad customer service, not answering emails on time even from boss David Mazafi. i tried calling from France several times long distance and was just kept on hold. I had to hung up because i was using a calling card. There were several issues with my shipment. Cubic fee was higher than the estimate and from seing the below many clients have the same issue. I wish an audit would take place in this company as im shure that all clients complain about their cubic feet. they just want to make an extra buck and are dishonest thiefs. eventually if i wanted to see my belongings i had to pay as they were holding my goods hostage. accounting never responded to emails about payment or volume questions and the rest of the staff was the same way. i am happy this whole order is over and advise people to NEVER use them. they are unreliable, liars and do not belief in customer service!! DO NOT USE! more

I moved to the UK from NYC recently and used NY Int Shipping as recommended by a friend. All in all I was very pleased with the service. The only thing is that it took 8 weeks for door to door delivery, my house is in the south west of the UK, and I was promised no more than 6. But I was kept informed by a friendly staff all the time and definitely value for money. more

Comments All went well thanks. Total turnaround time door to door was quite impressive: 5 weeks from the time I paid the invoice! It beat our expectations. Also: only item that didn't make it in one piece is one plate which arrived broken. 1 item out of 70 boxes full of our stuff is really minimal damage. That was satisfying too. Jacques more

We are a family of four and we are moving out of the country to give way for a new job opportunity in Japan. I have been worried on the necessary things to complete so that we can finally go. My biggest worry is about our household and belongings, so I relied on the services of a shipping company. NY shipping company is more than what I expected. They did an excellent job of shipping all our things to our new location. Prior to that, they also gave us some pointers on the restricted things to bring and other essential stuffs. In the end, we made it through the entire process. The picked up all our things on our old house and delivered them all safely on our new place. Wayne and his team were incredibly helpful from initial assessment through pickup and with follow up when my shipment arrived at port in London. The pickup team in New York were efficient and timely, and the NY Shipping office team were incredibly helpful at every step of the process. 1 star isn't low enough for NY International Shipping! I don't want to go into too much detail (I'd rather not relive the horror that was my move experience to Germany from NY in March this year,) but essentially it was the worst experience I've ever had with a mover. My furniture was delivered after 3 months (when I was given a time frame of 6-8 weeks for delivery,) they missed the first boat for delivery because they didn't process my payment until I called 1 week later to ""check in"" on things and they realized their error, and they were generally incompetent from start to finish. Once my furniture and belongings were delivered (3 months late, as previously mentioned) there were $3,300 worth of damages, (all of which I claimed.) If you decide to go for the cheaper option (a mistake I unfortunately made,) make sure to get the insurance!!! Also, stock up on painkillers because this whole process was a headache. I would never recommend this mover and would suggest saving yourself the trouble and pay a little more for better service. more

This is the first time I have to deal with moving to another country and not just any country - China. It is a different culture and I wanted to make sure I don't have any problems shipping my stuff there. NY Shipping really took care of everything (except for some paper work...) and I even got my things to Beijing ahead of time which was great (they told me there might be a delay but eventuelly there was not). more
