Authentic smoky pub 3/4/2003

As good as watching the footy in London. Only complaints: $20 cover each to watch the Worthington Cup (exploiting the ex-pats) and the downstairs is dark like a dungeon. Might be cheaper to just pay for Fox Sports. Pros: Televised events Cons: Cost, Atmosphere more

Nevada Smiths NYC is simply THE place to go for televised sport . Great atmosphere , great vision angles for the TV's and great beer too !!! Really friendly staff and a clued up loyal international customer base make this THE place for sports' followers of all nations . If I lived in New York I'd buy a bed and put it right next to the Guiness pump ! Pros: totally sports, easy to get to, welcoming Cons: too far from England more

Nevada Smith's is a lifesaver to ex-pats keen to get their weekly fix of English Premier League football. There's always a game on - and if it's not on ""live"", Jack will stick a taped game on for you. Great beer - great service. Cheers Jack! Mine's a pint of Boddington's!! more

A world of its own 8/24/2002

Footie heaven, home of the NY Blues, (Chelsea Supporters Club) and other supporters clubs (unmentionable), this place exists in the peculiar world that is the ex-pats/local fanatics of English football. Its funny to read the other reviews that are full of derision and basically say the place is a dump and a waste of space. It is a dump. But it serves a higher purpose that brings a great collegial mood and sometimes hilarious atmosphere to the world's greatest game and the world's greatest league. Don't go here unless you follow football. more

Self described at as the ""world's most passionate football bar!!), Nevada's is the Sports Fan's heaven, especially if you are en ex-pat -- If a Football match (Soccer to Americans) is not being shown at Nevada Smith's, you are probably not going to find it anywhere else! Two giant screens, numerous smaller ones, where ever you turn your head, you see the action, and Happy Jack at thebar is always ready with a friendly word as he fills up your glass with the best available brews . ... ..
