When ever I visit the area, I always eat at Nello's. They are closed on Mondays though. They have booths, tables and a bar to sit at.

The owners of Nello's are not Valley natives, but hail from Chicago. Some of the nicest people I ever met here in AZ have worked at Nello's. The Pizza and service are great. (this coming from an ex NY'er). A great place to hang out at the bar and talk to the owner Brian. Pros: friendly, clean, organized Cons: none, none, none more

Nellos is where its at - hands down. 10/16/2002

Closed on Mondays because nobody likes Monday, this place, has, bar-none, the freshest, best tasting pizza in the valley. The owners and staff are nice and knowledgable and the price is right as well; not to mention that this place is totally as clean as a pin 24/7. All this, coming from a valley native, definetly counts for something. I've turned on TONS of people to this place and they all agree, Nello's is where its at. Nobody in the Phoenix metro comes anywhere even close to touching these guys. Pros: quality/flavor/size, made fresh daily, clean/comfortable Cons: sometimes its packed more

Nello's #1? How did this happen? 10/1/2002

As someone who works a couple of doors down form a Nello's I've watched thier quality and customer service preform a free-fall over the past few years. They still manage to pull off a solid pie now and again, but it's so hit or miss that it's not worth the effort. more

This has got to be one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. I have been going to Nello's for over ten years now and have wandered elsewhere and ALWAYS say they have the best!! more

Memories of home 7/19/2002

Growing up in Chicago, pizza is thick and cheesy. Eating it with a fork is almost mandatory. The same goes for Nello's Pizza. I don't have to fly home to get great pizza. I just hop in the car and go!! more

Great pizza 6/1/2002

I would like to comment about the pizza expert from N.Y. I lived in N.Y. for 40 yrs. and still don't know what N.Y. pizza is. Every place makes it differant. If you have your favorite place, that's cool, have it delivered from N.Y. and don't eat Az. pizza. When I go back to N.Y. I have about 10 places I like to get pizza, all good. When I'm in Az. I like Nello's, and so does my family when they come out from N.Y. So tell me, what is a N.Y. pizza? Or do you just have your favorite pizza joint back there like we all do???? more
