Nana The Best Food I've Ever Eaten 7/28/2009

Nana seriously had the best food I've ever eaten. I'm not that adventurous when it comes to meat, so I tried the new vegan tasting menu. Deconstructed Green Bean Casserole with Honshimeji mushrooms - I'm no that big on mushrooms. Not the case in this dish. I ate every one of them. Liquid Baked Potato - So yummy! Carrot Marmalade beautiful colors and the sweetness dazzled my taste buds. Cucumber Spaghetti, with pistachio gravel, scallions, premium pistachios and sesame seeds. Seriously fresh ingredients. The view at Nana is so pretty. Make sure your chair faces the windows! Pros: Vegetarian/Vegan dishes more

Most romantic restaurant in Dallas 7/20/2009

Nana is one of the most romantic and elegant restaurants that Dallas has to offer. The food is always amazing and of the highest quality. Their Friday Night Flights is an amazing deal and a little bit of a secret. On the first Friday of each month they offer three samplings of wines and bites of food specially selected and prepared by their chef for only $20. Nana is classic and is an establishment to Dallas! Pros: Amazing view, excellent food more

Chef Anthony Bombaci rocks! 4/10/2009

I listed price as a con but every tasteful morsel of Chef Anthony Bombaci's cooking is worth every penny. I really don't think any other restaurant compares to Nana. The view from the 27th floor. The impeccable service. And there is the cuisine . . . . I have been there several times and strongly encourage the seven to ten course food sampling. It is also available with a wine pairing, but I usually just order a glass or two. And the cocktail list is heavenly with fresh juices and gourmet garnishes. If you are going to eat at Nana, make it an event, an experience, and spend the money. Take your time and savor every bite. But if you want to check out the scene and are money conscious, many people don't know about the bar at Nana which has a separate menu that is cheaper but just as good. The kobe sliders were the cover of D Magazine's Cheap Eats! Pros: food, service, atmosphere Cons: price more

Beautiful View Almost Makes up for Mediocre Food 10/6/2008

This is one of our long time favorite restaurants, but I doubt it will stay there after our recent visit. The prices on the menu seem to have gone through the roof, without an accompanying improvement in food. Appetizers of chilled cucumber soup and a salad were tasty, but the entress were a disappointment. The grilled sea bass was bland and the filet was so rich as to be almost inedible. I didn't even finish my small portion of fish it was so boring and while my husband finished his filet (again, small portions and he is a big eater) he certainly commented numerous times on the richness of the chocolate (yes chocolate) and gorganzola (I believe) sauce on the filet. Good at the first bite, but a bit much on even a small filet. Service was wonderful and gracious. They were there, but did hover - my favorite style. The sommelier was charming and very helpful in finding a reasonably priced bottle. I'm a little disappointed about this trip and hope that they return to the really good restaurant they used to be. I would hate to think that they want to get by just on the view. The view is nice, but not with iffy food. Pros: Service, Appetizers, Wine List Cons: Entrees more

unexpected guest 8/16/2008

i recently went to Nana for my 30th birthday on ( 08/02) with a group of friends. as we were sitting and enjoying the atmosphere there was a huge unexpected guest crawling underneath my friend chair when we told our waitress about the unexpected guest she called one of the workers over and stated here is another one... The employee got rid of it but that also ruined the night for us . I had visited the bar before and never had this experience i was shocked and embarrassed because i was there with first time visitors....i will not be back more

Beautiful view... SUPERB service 3/29/2008

We were staying at the Anatole and happily enjoyed a wonderful evening (and fabulous food) at Nana. If you are in Dallas you MUST go. Pros: Decor, view, service Cons: NONE more

Great View, Tasty food!! 12/5/2006

If you are looking for a restaurant that has a great view, and good food, please avoid Reunion Tower and come here. I do have to warn you that the menu is extremely pricey, and your portions are definitely "precious", but the food is delicious. I recommend the calamari as an appetizer, the turbot as a main course, and best of all, Peanut Butter and Jelly for dessert. Basically, it's Peanut butter ice cream with a sauce that tastes exactly like jelly. It's so on the money, that it brings you back to eating your PB&J sandwich in your elementary school cafeteria. Pros: View, ambience, food Cons: Price, Small Portions more

Terrible restaurant 9/26/2005

I recently stayed at the Anatole and thought I would enjoy eating at this restaurant that is touted as "one of 3 five star restaurants in Dallas". I found the food to be nearly inedible and the service was unbelievable. The waiter who brought some of the food laughed uproariously all through the event. I assume he was aware that the food was awful and thought it was funny that we were trapped there eating. Only the appetizers were good. The rest of the meal was tasteless at best, including dessert. Pros: nice view Cons: food, service, ambience more

nothing new! 6/17/2005

First thing we noticed as we arrived is the Smell-It was slightly like a raw meat smell -not too appetizing- as we were seated- we were not given any menus and when after 5 minutes of seating down-my husband came up and asked the hostess for a menu- she said the waiter will bring it to you-after a while the waiter came up and brought the menu-akward rule!!! nothing to do while we just sat and waited. the Split pea soup was the highlight of the meal-it was very good- THe entrees were good, small portion as common in "upscale" places- Def. order an appetiser/soup or salad!!! Did not try the dessert-our bill was around 120.00 and we did not have any wine or such- attentive service assistants- strange waiter though- the view is nice, but probably would not return- more

read me!!!! 2/7/2005

the food was good (what i would expect).the desserts arent worth their calories and the dining room still looks like a hotel restaurant. i've been to better places. and the kicker of it all was the service--snooty. not to mention greedy. the bill was 191 with 4-5 glasses of wine. so we paid in cash (mistake) and waited for change....and waited....and waited....finally got the godiva but no change. the waiter kept over 60 dollars. after 30 min. we left.called the manager. they apologised-and offered a gift certificate. that was 3 months ago. i'm glad i didn't hold my breath. Pros: view Cons: SERVICE, bathroom too far, not romantic more

Editorial
  • In Short
This staple hotspot got a $2 million facelift in 2001 and remains a casually elegant dining experience with attentive service and mouthwatering menu. Start with warm toasted almond soup accented with scallops, vanilla and artichokes or seared foie gras. Standout entrees include the herbed rack of lamb, the pan roasted venison loin, and the roasted salmon. The Scharffen Berger Chocolate Tart served with crumbled toffee ice cream and caramel is a rich and satisfying end.
