Best

My family and I ate at Mystic Pizza while on a trip to the East Coast. The pizza was great and the atmosphere very quaint. I don't recall the service being poor at all -- and ...

Worst

Mystic Pizza has revamped their interior since I was a kid (and since the movie brought in a huge boost in sales), which is nicer but it has lost the a little of the charm. Alth...

GREAT pizza, worth the hype 4/15/2006

I was excited to find Mystic Pizza was a real place. I remembered the movie, but as I'm from Georgia, it pretty much faded out of my mind as anything other than the name of a movie. I was very surprised when we passed it driving through Connecticut, and convinced my fiancee to stop so we could at least take a picture. But getting anywhere near the door, if it opens, you will be sucked in. It smells so good in there! The small pizza is a good size for one person, if you're moderately hungry, and you'll still be able to take one or two pieces home. Any pizza that has the meatballs on it will be wonderful, and they have several specialty offerings if you prefer to create your own pizza. Not quite deep dish, definitely not thin...the crust is its own creation and I just crave this stuff! I love when people come to visit from out of state, I always take them here. The parking isn't great, and the turn in and out of the lot can be crazy, considering the hill just to the side with cars flying down it. But this place is definitely worth the trip. more

hot from the restaurant, or cold from your freezer! 3/31/2006

I fell in love with Mystic Pizza as a kid. On family car trips to visit my grandparents we would stop at Mystic Pizza and grab a slice. I have always compared every pizza I've ever had to a Mystic pizza. I think the secret is in the sauce - it has a mild garlic-y flavor to it that most sauces don't have. It doesn't taste overly tomato-based - you taste the garlic and oregano most. AND, as an added bonus, you can buy frozen Mystic Pizzas at your local grocery stores too! It is by far the BEST frozen pizza you have ever had! Check it out! more

And a movie too 9/27/2005

Mystic Pizza was the inspiration for the movie Mystic Pizza. The restaurant is covered in movie photos and it does serve up the very best pizza you will ever have. They are handicap accessible (ramp in rear) and have expanded to two floors. If you are going to spend a day in Mystic you will want to make this one of your stops. more

The restaurant that inspired the movie 9/4/2005

Mystic Pizza is by far one of the best pizza establishments there is. The pizza is absolutely incredible, and it is no wonder an entire movie (Julia Roberts) was inspired by it. The restaurant is a fun place to visit with photos and local news clippings adorning the walls from this famous film. It has been remodeled in the last few years and now seats many more people (this place is famous and sometimes there would be quite a long wait, but not anymore). And you can even pick up a cool Mystic Pizza t-shirt just like they wore in the movie. North Stonington has a second Mystic Pizza location which no doubt has the same incredible "secret ingredient" pizza that brings people coming back time and time again. more
