Amazing service 5/30/2014

Mullen Construction installed granite counter-tops in sixteen kitchens and bathrooms in my complex that I manage. He finished everything in two weeks! I was AMAZED at how fast he had finished everything! He's a miracle. I was impressed with his sense of urgency combined with his quality of work. He also gave me a good price. Another contractor for the same service was trying to charge me ten-thousand, and he only charged me two-thousand! His honesty is hard to find with contractors these days. more

I think Ed delivered an excellent product and I've really enjoyed working with him. 5/23/2014

I've been working with Mullen Construction for a while now. I've built about three to four houses with Ed, and we moved in to the most recent one about four years ago. I've had a lot of experience with him along with my construction supervisor, and they've done a terrific job with this one. Everything went very well and we're very happy and pleased with the house. more

Get it done right! 3/28/2012

Ed Mullen and his team have their priorities straight! They left us with an amazing finished product. Jack Nestor and his crew ran our project like a well oiled machine. They finished on schedule and were able to help us hit our budget . When we were conflicted on design they helped us come up with an outcome that we love. Their ability to provide value engineering and work within budget is what sets these guys apart from the pack! Will use them in the future and recommend to all!!! more

Jack Nestor Fails to Complete Kitchen Remodel 3/15/2012

We hired Jack Nestor operating under Mullen Construction License # 421785 as the General Contractor for our kitchen remodel. He went 4 months over estimate, 20% over cost estimate and never even finished the job. To this day we still have unmatching ceiling beams. He was never present to actually supervise his subs and we had to catch and point out all their mistakes and then relay this info to Jack putting us into an awkward position with the workers. He tells you he's going to ""try"" over and over, but never follows through. more

Beauty abounds in all his work 2/1/2012

I have recommended Ed Mullen to two friends who bulit gorgeous homes with Mullen Construction. Anyone who walks into a home or business that Mullen built can recognize the quality immediately. His subs know he is a perfectionist and he himself has impeccable taste. He has built several homes on the beach that I visit and as the years have passed they have not weathered as other homes have, they look as thoguh new. The fourplex he built on Ocean is one of my favorite multiuse projects . I just visited it again to help a client with some design and carpeting and was again struck by the grace of the building, both from the exterior and interior . I highly recommend Mullen Construction. more

Numerous Civil and Small Claims Suits 9/12/2011

I think the owner, Edgar H. Mullen, is pathologically unstable. I don't know how he is still in business. He has over 20 lawsuits against him. See for yourself at www.sandiego.ca.gov then click on court index. And what's worse is that he still has a license and an A rating with the BBB. more

FINANCIALLY UNSTABLE!! 4/13/2011

I wouldn't recommend working with this contractor. He fails to pay his subs and you will end up with a lien on your home. Steals from Peter to pay Paul and now he can't pay either!! more
