My dog would go to Mount Hope once a year for his vaccinations so we never consistantly had one Vet (I never requested anyone specific). All three were awesome to my boy...never backing him into a corner or muzzling him. He was a rescue and could be very nervous. We were always greeted with kindness in a place that can get very busy. Dr. Cohen was on duty the day that was the beginning of the end for my dog. He and the staff wanted what was best for my dog and really helped me make the right decisions for his care since it was a Saturday afternoon. I recommend Mount Hope to anyone that has asked me for a Vet in the area. more

Life Savers 10/28/2011

Took one of my cats there after he was seriously injured and onther vets had quoted me 1200 or more to amputate his leg. This vet was kind enough to do the procedure for 467.00. They took amazing care of him and you could tell that they are in the vet buisness because they really care about the animals. After my exprience there I will be taking all of my animals there instead of the vets office we were using. more

In love with Mt Hope Animal Hospital 10/25/2011

I've been going to Dr Bert since I first adopted 2 kittens in 1994. I have always received excellent care and been treated in a friendly and courteous manner by the entire staff. My sister was visiting with her dog several years ago and the dog was ill. Dr Bert saw the dog first thing in the morning and my sister was amazed at how caring and helpful he was. When my two old girls were really sick and had to be euthanized last year the staff was so sympathetic and supportive I felt like I was with family. I have a new kitten now--she showed up on my doorstep, pregnant and abandonned--and I saw Dr Ellis for the first time; she was wonderful. Any time I have a question or concern the staff go out of their way to help me. I owe Dr Bert hundreds of dollars and he lets me pay whatever I can afford every month. My pets mean the world to me and I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. I'm writing this review as a response to the reviewer who said Mt Hope Animal Hosp. wasn't well th more

CARING AND COMPASSIONATE 12/7/2010

Mt. Hope Animal Hospital has awesome doctors and staff. Dr. Ellis is spunky but super nice. A caring and compassionate vet. I have also dealt with Dr. Bert who I also feel cares very much for his feline and canine patients and families. For those of you who are serving in the military or who are retired veterans, Mt Hope offers you a 15 percent discount. You can?t go wrong with the docs at Mt. Hope Animal Hospital. MARGIE AND DAVE SHOMER CTA1, USN (RET) and HM1FMF, USN (RET) we are bit afraid to sign our names. more

Great veterinarians, and friendly, knowledgable staff. Have been going there for years and whether it's a routine check up or sick pet, have always been treated respectfully, and been well informed, and pet taken good care of. more

Awesome Vet! 5/6/2010

I am quite comfortable bringing my pets here. The prices are the most reasonable on Aquidneck Island and my pets get good quality care. more

The BEST 10/7/2009

Dr. Bert and the staff of Mt. Hope Animal Hospital have always been very good to me . When one of my pets was diagnosed with cancer, they told me the outlook wasn't good, but also told me about medicine that might give her a good quality of life for a while longer. I tried the medicine, and she was fine for six more months. They were very compassionate and always willing to listen and answer my questions. They never rushed me off the phone or out of their office. I would not consider going to any other vet, especially with a sick pet. more

Super friendly, helpful and more affordable! 3/26/2009

I recently had an issue with my kitten which, according to my vet, could be resolved only by nature or an extremely expensive surgery, there was nothing to do but wait. On a recommendation from a friend I called Mt. Hope and was not only treated respectfully (even though I said right off the bat money was a big issue), I received better service, answers to my questions, a lower estimate and a more flexible payment plan than my regular vet even thought to offer! more

HORRIBLE 3/2/2009

It was unfortunate to find out after the fact that this veterinary clinic is not very well liked in this area. Having just adopted a pet from a local shelter we were given a free visit to a variety of local vets and chose this one based on proximity to our home and a recommendation from a friend. Long story short, our dog was not weighed, but was considered "underweight". His eyes and ears were not examined. They tried to sell us vaccinations while we were still in the waiting room before even reviewing his chart. The vet (a female who never even introduced herself...) was very unwilling to sit and talk with us about some of our concerns. Instead she rattled off a list of things our new dog could have at the top of the list was cancer and the battery of tests we should have done. It was noted in the chart that we refused blood testing for our dog which was not the case AT ALL! We are now very happy at a different vet, with a healthy dog, and would never recommend this place to any pet more

Very Dis satisfied Pet Owner 6/12/2008

scam artist un ethical bait and switch artist with only bias records kept not reviewed or signed by pet owners. They take advantage of well intentioned animal lovers with greed as their primary motive. I strongly recommend not trusting Doc Bert. His temperament is explosive and defensive. Pet owner beware! They don't care about you or your pet only about their bottom line. They will intentionally keep you coming back frequently as long as you take the bait. They don't diagnose accurately or care to correct on your first visit. They will not fully disclose and post procedure lacks instruction. more
