I cannot stress to you the importance of reading reviews, we did that mistake with not doing this for our beloved that passed away during the Holidays. As it is having someone leave you unexpectedly is very stressful and hurtful during the Holidays seeing everyone together makes it more difficult. Mr. Jaime Martinez (owner of Mt. Carmel) is a very cold, rude and non-caring person I have ever dealt with once you sign the papers you no longer have his support and when requesting things for your loved one it becomes like a burden to him. He doesn't even look at you when passing by, or even Thank You for using his facility at the end. His facial expressions when asking for changes or wanting something is unbelievable he doesn't want to have you ask for anything after signing. He has staff that makes him look good which he should consider seating behind a desk not dealing with the public and let them do the job for him because he is an awful, uncaring and rude person. He told Reva R. he didn't care about the complaints but if people spread this around and his business goes down I am sure he will start thinking about what wrong he did and how he can correct it. All Mr. Martinez thinks about is making sure you sign and after that who cares..Remember word of mouth goes a long way and my family and I would not like anyone to go through what we did, this is a time to have everything go smoothly and to remember what a beautiful last moment you had with your loved one.... DO NOT GO TO MT. CARMEL CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE !!!!!! more

My Beloved Mother recently passed away and my siblings and i decided to let MT.CARMEL FUNERAL HOME provide the services for my mother.I am sad to say that MR.Martinez who just so happens is the owner was extremely rude to my brother and showed no compassion whatso ever through out our sad ordeal. like MS.Reva stated in prior review we went through the same problems with him. He kept making light of things seemed like we were there to buy a car.My beloved mother was not prepared in time so her beautiful was very swollen by the time the rosery came around. He gave my brother some lame excuse.Out of all this there was one young lady Leslie M.that was very lovely and compassionate she did everything in her power to make us feel somewhat better.My sister works at a nursing home and relatives are always asking her where to go in their hour of need well she now knows not to recommend MT CARMEL.Hopefully other people will not have to go through the same problems we did.if possible go somwhere else. more

We recently had our services at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home and I must say I was extremely happy with the way everything was handled. My family had a real hard time make a decision on the casket and flowers, but Mr. Martinez was patient with us and explained everything in detail. The prices were very reasonable too. We had not seen our mom look as good as she did in a long time. In days leading up to her passing, our mom's illness made it difficult for her to do her own makeup and hair. The staff at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home made her look so beautiful that our last memory of her was laying peacefully.\r I hope we don't have to go through this difficult time in our life again, but if we must we will definitely will be going back to Mt. Carmel Funeral Home. more

I am sadden to write this review, but I don't want anyone else to go through what our family went through. Our beloved Father passed away and when we went to Mt. Carmel Funeral Home on Zaragoza Road, I thought I was buying a car. Jaime was very unprofessional. No emotion whatsoever. He did not care about our pain, he just wanted to sell us a funeral. I understand it's a business, but really? No emotion? No feelings? Everything we picked was done wrong. Music never played and according to them, it was playing all the time. No one could hear it. When we mentioned this, they pumped the volume up so high, we could barely hear each other. The video was late 3 hours. Stephanie, the receptionist, was rude and treated us with disrespect EVERY TIME we asked her for info. I mentioned that to her, she looked at me and continued with her rudeness. Julian thinks funerals are a show. He thinks we are all there for entertainment purposes. Very, very unprofessional. I told him that we were going to complain about the services and he said ""forget the complaints. Who cares!"" And that sums it up. That is the attitude of everyone at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home on Zaragoza Road. If you visit this place it is because you are going through a very sad phase in your life. Take my advise, go somewhere else. The pain and suffering they cause is really extreme. Your loved one deserves much better. more

I want to say thank you so much for the way they handled everything. Very caring in our time of need and gave us that extra special touch that made us feel like my Mamita was a part of their family. Time, caring and very aware of our needs. I would truly recommend Mt. Carmel at this time of our most heart wrenching time. Thank you Mt. Carmel staff!! more
