Our biggest county library features story telling and other services to the public, lots of activities for children, and a huge book sale once a year.  There is a large sunny lounge to sit and read the many newspapers and magazines on offer.  The reference section is thorough.  There are about a dozen computers for public use - warning - after school and during the summer these are - understandably and justifiably- hogged by kids and bored teens.  Best bet is during the weekdays during the school year if you are working on a project.  When my computer breaks down I go there.  You can get stuff printed out (b/w only) for a fee, get photocopies and send faxes.  The director is a knoweldgeable local woman who believes in being an active player in the community.  Visitors are welcome.  Art exhibits are an on-going feature.  It's across the street from the Andy Griffith Playhouse, right downtown.
