Mr. Tire - Vienna RIP OFF 4/12/2008

I took my car in for a tune up that was supposed to cost $40...\r \r After looking, they wanted to charge me $350 for work I could have done myself (didn't have the time) for $75, if that.\r \r After I declined the service, they charged me $56 for an estimate. I was forced to pay to get my keys back - I would up paying nearly $60 for nothing. - An amount that would likely have been close to enough to fix the car by myself. \r \r RIP OFF. AVOID. more

THE WORST EVER!!!! 3/11/2008

Ok so I used this place 3 times.\r \r #1 took car #1 for oil change. When getting it back, drove 2 miles and the engine's RPM started jumping. They tore 2 spark plug wires while changing oil!!! A $400 job they refused to take responsibility for. BUT I live a block away so i thought maybe just a coincidence.\r \r #2 took car #2 for break job. had a $99 coupon, they tried to sell me a $500 break job. i asked if the 99 was no good. They got mad - i took the 99. After picking up the car my breaks failed after 50 miles! They actually broke my master cylinder! then claimed i was "ASKING FOR IT" by insisting on the $99 job! this is after i spoke with them for 10 minutes and was assured that the 99 job was "equivalent" to the 500 one. more

Even though I only live a few blocks away, there's no way I'm returning to this place. I don't have the expertise to judge the quality of their work, and my car hasn't needed major repairs, but I guess Mr. Tire is an ok place to go if you know you need to get specific things done. But I would be very wary when they start recommending other work on your car, which they've done everytime I took in my car. Sometimes I let them do the work and sometimes I declined.\r \r My last visit, I took my car in for a simple oil change. When I went to pick it up, they said that my car needed, among other things, a transmission flush, because the fluid looked brown and needed to be green, and a power steering flush, because the fluid was dirty. I was surprised and told the guy I had gotten these things done at the very same Mr. Tire only 6 months ago. When he checked the database and saw that I was correct, he backpedeled and apologized and said that it was their mistake. He made some lame excus more
