Wow!! Morry's has certainly changed a lot over the years. But I am glad that they have found themselves. Their wine bar is spectacular- where else can you get a flight of 96 silver oak, 03 Lynch Bages(the best vintage to date) and the 02 Quintessa!! And not to mention- for $30.00 The menu is small but growing and their Valrhonna Chocolate Fondue- to die for. Their wine selection has paired down a lot, so you won't find grocery store brands, but you will find the first growths, and spectacular allocated and private family collections. As an avid wine collector (and drinker)- if you're in the market for a new experience and amazing wine I would highly recommend stopping in. PS they do beer tastings- great for the guys! more

Wow! It's been a while since I've been to Morry's. I grew up in Long Beach and just moved back. I wasn't expecting the changes, but was very impressed. I wasn't expecting the jewelry and boutique stuff, but loved the concept. I met the girl that buys all that stuff and it is all made my local artisans (not costume jewelry). They are even having an Artisans Night with free wine and cheese to introduce people to the faces behind the art. I thought it was wierd at first but I guess the idea is to bring high end luxury items together under one roof. They supposedly hired an artisan chocolatier for LA and they are starting a chocolate shop within the store! Oh my god! I sampled some and it was amazing. Rumor has it that they decided to open a wine lounge that turned into a restaurant and the food was excellent. I just went in for the first time this week and was taken aback by this cozy dark lounge atmosphere that was tucked away in the back. Unfortunately, I missed out on the great entrees they had, but I was told by one of the managers that they lost their original focus which was to bring an interesting array of wines for people to try by the glass or fight and pair the wines with seasonal foods. Although the focus is more on the wines, I still had an excellent cheese plate and croque mossuier. I don't know what I was missing before, but was pleasantly pleased and suprised by the changes I experienced. I'm a big wino and was disappointed at first when it looked like the selection had decreased. They told me that they had to temporarily loose some of the inventory as they were undergoing construction, but they are currently bringing it all back. Even the beer .... this makes my husband very happy. more

I had not visited Morry's since the mid-90's after moving back east. What happend to the one of the best wine stores in Southern California? This place is now a joke, selling costume jewlery and serving high price food without a working kitchen. Pros: An institution in The Shores Cons: Deplorable selection of wine and beer more

I walked into Morry's not expecting much, but what I found was a lot. I had been looking everywhere for an English liquor called "Pimms" and they had it and told me right where to find it. They have a huge selection of wine, wines from everywhere that you can think of. They have a huge selection of imported beers and microbrews. They also have gift baskets made up with wine, cheese, appetizers, etc. They sell some groceries and drinking necesities like wine openers, swizzle sticks, beer glasses and more. They also play cool/fun music. Can you tell I'm impressed!? more
