Montessori School Of Evergreen

MSE is one of the finest Montessori schools in the country! For years I have observed as MSE implements rigorous Montessori while also pulling in best practices in child development. The result is education innovation of a high degree. My children attended MSE for many years, and we would have stayed until they all graduated but we were unexpectedly uprooted and moved to Washington D.C. In D.C. my older child was accepted into one of the most sought after independent schools in the city (and in the country) - Sidwell Friends School. My child was fully prepared to take on the academics of this school because of the education at MSE. The creativity of thinking and passionate participation my child showed was appreciated by the teachers. \r My other child attended a Montessori school in DC, but the experience was deeply disappointing. No rigorous implementation of Montessori, no innovation, nothing like MSE. I described MSE in a conversation with an official at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) several years ago, and he told me ""some of the most innovative work in education is being done in our member schools out West."" Between our two children, we have nine years experience at MSE. Both girls are encouraged to be independent, creative free-thinkers. The girls are wonderful at coming up with solutions and seeing questions from different perspectives. The spiraling curriculum gives the children in-depth understanding of the topics they study. The teachers and administration are very open, and questions and concerns are dealt with promptly. We are lucky that our children can attend MSE. more

I have two children enrolled at MSE. One who started in preschool and is now finishing 3rd grade and another who transferred from GT program at Parmalee who is about to graduate 8th grade. Our daughter moved to MSE in 4th grade and had no problem transitioning from public school to MSE and to see how she has thrived, even through the challenging years of middle school is just unique and incredible. Our family is so committed to this school. The teachers, staff and curriculum are outstanding. Our children and our family have blossomed in ways that continue to surprise and inspire me. We are incredibly grateful to have this school available for our children and so grateful to be a part of the MSE community. Finally , in a nutshell: academically challenging, forward and global thinking, character-building and a truly top shelf education! more

This is an amazing place!!!!!!!! Both of our children and the family have found a home at this school. We are lucky that Evergreen has so many exceptional schools but our family has found this one to top them all. The faculty and staff are so committed to the each individual child that I get inspired every time I walk throught the doors. A school that teaches children a love of learning, respect for themselves and their community... What we find most amazing is that Pre-8th grade you will find inspired, intelligent, kind and interested children who know themselves and their abilities becasue they have been taught and encouraged in their classrooms. The tuition is obviously not little but the education is HUGE. This is an amazing school and we are so grateful to be a part of the MSE community! more

My children have attended MSE for four years now and I can't speak highly enough about our experience at the school. The teachers are amazing and dedicated. My children have been challenged academically, but perhaps more importantly, they have been nurtured and encouraged as individuals.
