Good Breakfast 5/2/2011

Can you say Chicken Apple Sausage?!\r \r I can't think of a better East Village breakfast place. These guys serve delicious food. Oh, and by the way, they have mimosas too. \r \r I have been eating here about twice a month for the last 3 years. Even though they have about 40 items to order, I always order one of the two dishes with Chicken Apple Sausage. Just thinking about these the slightly spicy sausages makes my mouth water -a little scrambled egg on a fork, a tiny piece of chicken apple sausage and a quick dip in the salsa is a perfect bite.\r \r BTW, all of the dishes are not only delicious, they are HUGE. You will never leave hungry.\r \r Also, these guys serve the strongest coffee I have ever had - seriously, this stuff is so strong I have them fill my cup with half hot water, half coffee. If you love strong coffee, you can't pass this place up. \r more

Best Breakfast in San Diego 3/15/2011

I bought blueberry pancakes since they're my mother's favorite and this was Mother's Day, soon after all. In case you are questioning why I took a friend to brunch and left mama at house, it is for the reason that she's on the east coast. I sent flowers, although, so it is ok. Back to breakfast. The flapjacks had been Enormous! What impressed me was that they had been super moist (i hate that word, so you know this can be a huge deal) and fluffy throughout the entire pancake. No dryness! No not-so-fresh feeling! The fruit puree that they swirl around the plate was also awesome. I ordered the eggs and bacon additionally simply because Fatty likes her breakfast meat; both had been rather tasty. My friend got the apple sausage jammies with the rosemary potatoes and I was equally impressed with his food. I normally hate residence fries/baked potatoes but there was so a lot flavor in those small, tubby bundles of joy that my preferences have changed. more

Everything here is good! 1/14/2010

One of the first breakfast places I started going to in San Diego. This place is always packed on weekends so be prepared to wait for awhile or go early in the morning. (Unlikely if you are like me and likely sleeping off a hangover) But if you do stumble there in the late morning, there is free coffee while you wait- and it's worth the wait! \r \r This place specializes in Asian/Latin/Californian Cuisine and it's GOOD! Favorite two breakfasts: the Zen Breakfast if I am trying to be healthy, which is egg whites, tofu with terriyaki sauce, brown rice, and lightly grilled veggies.......If I don't care about being healthy then the Breakfast Croissant is the way to go: a croissant sandwich stuffed with eggs, cream cheese, avocado, and bacon. I think though you have to ask for the avocado to be put in there as it doesn't come with it normally. But this sandwich is to die for!!!! Or, also, their French Toast is divine too. \r \r Other things that are great here: their shakes; any and all of their pancakes - beautifully presented and yummy tasting; their rosemary potatoes; apple sausage; and any of their Latino Breakfasts; or Chino-Latino Plates.........pretty much, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I have never had a bad experience there. \r \r Love it love it love it! Can't go wrong here. \r more

Delicious for savory or sweet 12/10/2008

Should be best breakfast i think. Love the potatoes. My favorite thing to get is the cinnamon french toast with bacon and rosemary potatoes. If you like savory foods, the breakfast burrito and egg plates are great, but if you're a sweet person, like myself i recommend the french toast or the pancakes (especially the granola pancakes). Also great to take leftovers as a snack to the beach. Pros: Service Food Quality Taste Ambience more

Good breakfast, but it's too crowded on weekends. i prefer the one at the beach on the boardwalk, or the new one in the East Village. Still corwded, though. more

Great freshly made rosemary bread! 11/20/2006

This place has the best fresh baked bread. Particularly, the rosemary bread was delicious! And the rosemary potatoes go great with it. The portions are big, and it's really cheap. You really can't go wrong here. However, they close early, by midafternoon. Pros: Cheap, great food, pig portions Cons: Close early more
