Pretty good dinner for thirty bucks 3/28/2006

Minado's is a cheap Japanese buffet that one would definately not expect to find in Manhattan. Lunch is around thirteen dollars and dinner is set at thirty bucks! My friend is allergic to lobster/crab/shrimp and she still found ways to fill her stomach at Minados; she stuck to the oysters/mussels, noodles, and eel rolls. The food was pretty good although the sushi pieces did contain a little too much rice. The dessert line is always very long, but the green tea ice-cream is delicious! more

Wonderful! 12/2/2005

I go there at least once a month! They have everything imaginable from raw to cooked food. There is even a chef that can cook steak, salmon, scallop, shrimp, or chicken on the spot for you. For dessert they have another cook making crepes - you get to choose whether it's mango, cream, brown sugar, blueberry, strawberry, etc. If that doesn't make you happy, there are fruits, ice cream, and various flavored cakes for you to choose from. more

good price, good food 10/2/2005

I've been here several time, and the food has been exceptional. They have an assortment of rolls and sushi that would satisfy any taste palette. Japanese food are usually expensive, but $30.00 for a endless buffet of sushi is a bargain more

Sushi, comfort, and more! 8/28/2005

Minado is a very nice Japanese buffet restaurant in the middle of Manhattan. The restaurant set up is very comfortable - it gives the sense of a very large and spacious place and is very comfortable to sit in. There's a very large variety of sushi, though it's not the best sushi out there. It's difficult to try a lot becuase sushi is a lot about the bite of rice underneath, and that fills you up quite easily. Besides from sushi, they have a very nice selection of salads and noodles and fish. The lunch price is quite a bit cheaper than the dinner price, but beware, they stop refilling the food at 2:30 and then they will close everything at 3. Overall, it's a very nice place to eat, just show up with plenty of time to help you eat slowly and digest as you sit so you can try more things and maybe ask the sushi chefs for some special sushi :) more

Best Japanese Buffet 8/5/2005

My favorite buffet restaurant ever since it's open. They have contemporary Japanese hot food dishes including yakisoba, beef & chicken teriyaki, tempura, gyoza dumplings, sushi, & udon. For dinner, they have teppan-yaki grill that you can order beef, chicken and scallop with vegetables. But the best of all are seafood: Sashimi, Alaskan snow crab legs, Jumbo shrimp, oysters, cocktail shrimp and a lots more. And don't forget to try the red bean & green tea ice-cream. more

A Buffet is what you were looking for, then its what you will get. For the price of the usual sashimi platter ( $30) in another restaurant, you can eat your fill AND have a vast selection to choose from. I suggest going at dinner time since there is more of a selection. It is a great place for birthdays and large parties. Service is accommodating and presentation is neat and appealing. It looks and feels clean and for most buffets this is really alot to ask for. Its huge so there is never a wait...you sit you eat. You should just walk in one day when you are passing by and take a look. I promise you will be impressed by presentation and size. The quality is OK and for a vegas feast where after the first plate you feel like it all tastes the same...its still only $30 to eat your fill. Then you can decide to hit it again next month when you have sworn off buffets after that last bite. more

This is a wonderful place to eat at if you love japanese food. They have a lot of sushi that you can choose from and their prices are decent. You can eat during lunch time or during dinner time. I recommend you go during dinner time because there is a lot more food for you to enjoy. They make good food and you will love it. more
