I have a mobile home and had a 1/2 inch PVC elbow (75 cent part) disconnect under the house. Since I was out of state at the time and have someone renting the house I had to find a plumber to replace the elbow fitting. I've done much plumbing before and know that this repair takes no more than 30 minutes, including having to go under the house to get to the piece (10 feet crawl/crouch). Milton Frank was punctual about having a guy at the house within an hour. Once the guy got to the house he said it would cost $250 for him to go under the house (10 feet) to see what's wrong. Then he said it would cost approximately $350 to replace up to 10 feet of pipe, but remember I only needed one 75 cent part replaced. I was absolutely flabergasted over the fee of $600 to replace one tiny part of PVC. I called the owner of the company who said he could charge me more appropriately after the technician was able to see exactly what was bad, so I agreed. Forty-five minutes later the tech was finished and charged my $590. WOW, what a deal. This is the most ridiculus highway robbery I've ever encountered. Had the dispatcher told me about the fees when I initially called I would have definately found someone else. DO NOT USE MILTON FRANK PLUMBING UNLESS YOU LOVE THROWING MONEY AWAY. THEY ARE EXTREMELY OVERPRICED. GET SOMEONE ELSE. All plumbers use the same parts, and in this situation, a one-eyed monkey could have performed the repair successfully.
Pros: Punctual arrival, friendly dispatcher/secretary
Cons: Extremely OVERPRICED
