Great Service 12/23/2015

Thank you Larry! For the great outstanding hassle free service that Michigan Motor Exchange provided to our company. You did everything that you said you do and more. I admit that I was a little skeptical at first about taking the route of a remanufactured motor over a new vehicle due to the poor service and broken promises that many service providers give today. However Larry you did right by us. Not only did we get 1 reman but we got 2 which saved us a lot of money as opposed to the route of brand new vehicles. They look good they run great and we're saving a lot of cash on insurance. Thanks again, Tony more

Very professional and great service! 10/8/2015

I had bought an engine from Michigan Motor Exchange 7 years ago and since resold my vehicle to a family member. Then my daughter recently blew up her engine right before leaving for college. The first place I thought of was Michigan Motor Exchange. I took it in and they replaced the engine in her Cavalier. They were professional and very reasonable. Now I feel good sending her off to college with a dependable vehicle and warranty too. more

Very Satisfied customer 8/20/2015

After improperly winterizing my 1996 Baja last fall my motor cracked. I took it into Michigan Motor Exchange for an engine replacement. They were a. The most reasonably priced for the job. and b. They had it done in time for our annual lake party. I would definitely recommend them for boats as well as cars. They were very professional but mostly just helpful when I had questions or concerns. A+ more

Job Well Done! 4/10/2014

I brought my 1995 Chevy S-10 into Michigan Motor Exchange for an engine back in July of 2004. Now after ten years and a 100,000 miles of running great I figured they would be the best people to deal with when I needed to have my transfer case replaced. They are good, honest people. Thanks Michigan Motor Exchange on a job well done. more

Defective product 3/31/2014

Congratulations on a pleasurable experience. It was slightly more than two years ago when I paid MME $4,500 and waited more than five weeks to have an engine rebuilt. My problems surfaced after only 38 miles and I have had an uphill battle ever since. MME had my vehicle a total of three times and I was delivered a defective product each time. Oil in the coolant is difficult to miss, especially in the case of ‘engine experts’ but after three visits, I was told in front of a witness that there was nothing wrong with my engine. I was told that it ran fine. I was told that the oil was rust. I was told that nothing more could be done. My faith and trust in this establishment had evaporated after that third visit. After the State of Michigan and the BBB became involved eight months later, I was offered a partial refund under the conditions that I would not tell my story online and also sign a hold harmless agreement. I refused and opted for a full refund, which at this point in time only covered my loss with MME. Many more dollars were lost with incidental expenses directly related to the defective engine. You will read the MME rebuttal to my online complaints and it is suggested that they begged me to make things right. They had my vehicle three times and nothing was made right. You will read about how fixable my engine has become in this rebuttal. They had my vehicle three times and nothing was fixed! You will read about the age and their idea of book value on my vehicle, which is totally irrelevant. You will read that I am a slanderer and a blackmailer for exercising my right to post an honest complaint and have a demand for a full refund. Michigan Motor Exchange was paid a handsome sum of money to provide a working engine, not an appraisal of the value of my vehicle. They failed miserably in their guarantee to provide a working product. They failed miserably in the customer satisfaction department as well. If I had only one word to describe MME, it would not be printable in this public forum. I more

Very Happy - Would definitely Recommend! 12/18/2013

I took my 2004 Durango into Michigan Motor Exchange two months ago and had them replace my engine. My experience with them was very positive from the start. They were very thorough in explaining everything that needed to be done and told me at that time I might need some additional parts after diagnosing the problem. They called me to ok everything and explained that these were preventative maintenance items. It has been two months now and I have 1200 miles on the engine and everything is running smoothly. I did have a check engine light come on so called them immediately and went back in to have them check it out. It ended up being nothing and they cleared the code for me. I would highly recommend Michigan Motor Exchange and I would not hesitate to go back to them for future business. more

DEFECTIVE ENGINE-TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION 2/28/2013

How can Michigan Motor Exchange claim that their work is done to the highest industry standards, that they have master mechanics doing professional work and claim that customer satisfaction is their number one priority...when they provided me with a defective engine? [cross contamination oil/coolant] How can these professionals miss bulletins on my engine? How can they claim that the oil in the coolant is rust? Family, friends, neighbors, pro mechanics and the State of Michigan all recognized oil in the coolant and the defective workmanship. Michigan Motor Exchange had my truck three times and it was contaminated after each visit. After the third visit, they said that the engine ran fine and sounded fine and attributed the poor performance on everything but themselves. What do you want from a 2.8L engine? Would you want these people to further service your vehicle? I wanted a full refund of $4.500 for quite some time now. One of the owners recently contacted me with an offer to fix an engine that has been contaminated for more than a year now. What would be fixable? They want a fourth chance and he tells me of oversights and bad communication. Really? How can you miss cross contamination when all these pros are doing all of this high quality work? How can you deliver an engine with the coolant reservoir empty and tell the customer that it will not hold ANY LIQUID? It was full of oil/coolant sludge when I got it home. Is this customer satisfaction of the highest priority? I have suffered hardships and misery with this defective product and I guess the "good people" at Michigan Motor Exchange don't think this deserves a full refund. I was quoted a price that went up considerably. I was told that parts were good and the engine was running and sounded great. Then I was told that these parts were not good and it would cost more money. Ooops! I was given a timeline and it ended up with 5 1/2 weeks. I am over $9,000 in debt now because of this mess and I want a full refund for the defective work that y more
