Miano Viel Salon & Spa

I usually don’t write these things, but I have to say I adore the way Hudson has been doing my hair. I wanted to get a Brazilian Blow Dry keratin treatment, and a friend from work gets her color done by Hudson. I love my hair! The Brazilian is great, it basically took all the frizz and dryness out of my hair and the way he does it, I still have body-no more blow drying and iron-which was breaking my hair. Hudson has been doing my hair-I think a year now-it’s the first time in years that people notice a change and offer compliments. He does color and cuts as well, which I love, being from California, that’s how we do it out there, I found in NY, I’d like the guy who colors and hate the girl who cuts or vice versa. My only grip is they don’t let you put the tip on the credit card. more

I was reading the review about Ray Symons and he also does my hair. Funny thing is that I had a similar situation to esidechic! Ray is a master at what he does and I'll follow him anywhere and he's well worth the price tag. I found Miano Viel salon to be great place for him as the people there focus on customer service and make you feel welcome. more

I have just found Ray Symons after he left Oscar Blandi. He has been cutting my hair for years and always gives me the most beautifully cut looks that grow in so well. He has such a unique touch with his scissors that I love to watch when he cuts hair. Miano Viel salon was a brand new experience and I loved it, from the friendly voice on the phone to the welcome at reception I never had that experience at his other place, also the decor is warm and inviting and the overall atmosphere was very relaxing. Overall, Ray fixed a bad emergency hair job I had at the other place and I feel confidant again. more

Tanya's been coloring, highlighting, perming and cutting my hair for over 2 years. I don't trust anyone but her. She is so skillful and creative and what's best, she won't just do whatever you say if she thinks it won't look good on you. She will always offer options. She also does straightening without the harsh chemicals. Book her asap because she gets so busy they take numbers at the front desk (kidding). There's no phoneyness, she's neat and caring. Tanya, hair's to you. You truly are the best.! more

My friend G has beeen going to Hudson for years, and after my Hairdresser kept over bleaching my hair, I desided to give in to G and go see Hudson at Miano Viel salon. I have to say I was nervous, but as soon as i walked in the door and was greeted by friendly front desk, I felt at ease. Hudson listened to me about what I wanted and told me that he was going to use color and NOT bleach on my hair. I was scared but agreed and MY COLOR looks so good now, my old hairdresser was damanging my hair for years. Hudson also gave me a clear gloss to keep the shine. its been 3 weeks and my hair has never felt better. He blow dried my hair with fab body, i have an appt with him in two weeeks for touch up and for him to cut for first time, I can't wait. this is the first time in 12 or so years people actually noticed a change in my hair! PLUS when you get your hair shampooed out the chairs massage you! I love my hair now! Pros: Hudson's good work/ Massage chairs when you get shampooed. Cons: can't think of none, but I would have loved a glass of wine more

I love this salon, I went to meet a friend at the hotel across the street, we decided to have our hair done, at the referal of the hotel manager. We loved this place!! The atmosphere is eligant but not over done, quality work, and wonderful energy. The staff is wonderful, caring, professional, and extremely skilled at what they do. We highly recommend this place, quality work, great atmosphere, fun and relaxing. We got more than our moneys worth!! Pros: location, work, energy Cons: none that I could think of more

I was sent to Miano Viel by a friend, and fell in love with the place. I got my hair done, color and cut. Loved both cut and color, and the hairdressers that did my hair. I have black hair, and always wanted highlights, but they never came out right, till today, the best highlight I have ever had, and the cut was the best ever. This place is upscale, without being over the top, down to earth, fun, friendly and relaxing. Will be going back, this is for sure. Loved the hairdressers and their work. I stopped into this salon to get my hair done, I got a latin guy with blond hair, a charming personality and a great sense of humor, and tons of talent. We laughed and had a great time, I felt like I had known him for years and he immediately knew how to work with my hair. My hair looked the best it has ever looked, and the finish lasted me 3 days, this is a first for me. I had a great time, from the shampoo, throught the cut and finish, it was a wonderful and unexpected pleasure. I will definately be going back, great atmosphere, talented staff, unbelievable shampoo. everything was exquisite! I cannn't wait to try other services, wonderful place!! I loved the time I spent here, I had my hair done, cut and color, loved it. It was exactly what I wanted, the hairdressers that did my hair were, very sweet, charming, talented, and fun. I was very nervous, which happens when you are changing hairdressers, they put me at eez almost immediately. The entire place seems to be staffed with such great people, such flair and style throughout the place, from the reception desk to shampoo girls, everyone is lovely. They have a great energy at Miano Viel, I am looking forward to returning, loved my hair, loved the entire experience. This is a great place. I found this salon and spa last week, simply by chance. I was looking for something new and exciting and I found it at Miano Viel. I had my color done and a haircut, then spurged on a mani-pedi, just did not want to leave. The staff here is exquisite, talented, professional, and lots of fun. I am very happy with the color, cut, and the mani, pedi I got there and was made to feel like a princess. They cater to their customers every need, and make you feel so special. I have to share this place with the world, lol. This salon is a oassis, tucked away off of Madison on 52 Street. What a fabulous place, professional, warm and inviting, with a staff that is second to none, are the only words to describe this salon. From the front desk throughout this place, was a harmony that is so comforting. I had my hair done, both color and cut, both were done to perfection. The colorist and stylist were both charming, witty, fun and oh so talented. Everything here was top level, each experience was a treat, from the staff, to the massage chairs, that made my shampoo an experience I will never forget. I left Miano Viel feeling and looking absolutely fabulous. I can't wait to return, loved everything about this place. They know how to do it right, and to perfection!! Class and style without being pretentious, that's the way to do it, I highly recommend the Miano Viel experience!!! I had a wonderful time at Miano Viel Salon and recieved the best haircut I've ever had. I was a little nervous about my appointment because not only do I have long hair, but I was worried the salon might be a bit snobby, as many fine salons in New York can be. Everyone was SO nice though, and the stylist, Hannah, was very professional and listened to what I wanted. From the receptionists to the head stylist, everyone was fabulous - it was so refreshing. I've lived in New York for five years and I wasn't able to find a good place to cut my hair that wasn't an arm and a leg. I asked around and finally found out about Miano Viel Salon. I've only been once, but I will definitely be back. It is a very nice salon without having the uppity Manhattan salon attitude. Hannah cut my hair and was great!
