On February 14th, 2004, we adopted Rusty. We knew little about Redbone Coonhounds. I was told that some hunters will leave redbone coonhounds in the woods if the dog is not good at hunting. Someone abandoned Rusty. Well, I do not know anything about hunting, but I do know that he was one of our greatest assets and our best friend. He was disciplined (no need for alarm clocks), full of love, intuitiion, loyalty, playfulness, and had a zest for life. When I first adopted him and took him to Metrowest Vet Clinic for his shots, he was anxious, but the staff was so affectionate towards him, he soon felt at ease- flirting with those beautiful honey brown eyes and wagging his tail.\r
