Greatest Sushi Ever! 8/10/2011

I have been going for sushi at Mene for almost 15 years...we sit at the bar. The waitstaff, busstaff, owners and of course the sushi chiefs are wonderful. We celebrate holidays there and are treated like family. The fish is very fresh and plentiful. The bad reviews I don't believe for a minute. Enjoy! more

DON'T EAT THERE!!! 11/26/2009

SERVICE WAS BAD SO WAS OUR FOOD. SOMEONE TOLD ME THEY HAD FOUND A DEAD FLY IN THEIR SOUP!!! DO I HAVE TO ADD ANYTHING ELSE? more

Horrible eperience 11/26/2009

We had to wait for about 1 hour (Wednesday evening) - not that they were busy. Our waitress completely messed up our order and then charged us more than the price on the menu was. The food was not fresh and didn't taste good. Pros: Nasty food / Nasty service more

Avoid like H1N1 11/22/2009

Don't be fooled, Mene is not a good restaurant. The food is low quality. This is a good place if you are constipated because you will likely have diaherea. Food is over priced. The service is poor and the owner is very rude. DO NOT EAT AT MENE Pros: Avoid this restaurant, Mene Sushi is pathetic Cons: Rude Service, Stale, Overpriced more

Mene Sushi 4/27/2008

My girlfriend and I have gone to Mene Sushi every week for several years. That is, until last night. Last night I walked in and put our name on the list of people waiting and asked the manager/owner how long until we would be sat. She said 1/2 hour. I said OK and my girlfriend and I waited outside for fifteen minutes. When I walked back in our name had been crossed off the list and the owner told me that we had already been called. She then proceeded to yell at me for several minutes because we had walked out and had not listened for my name. It truly was embarrassing. Another customer told the manager that she should remember that customers are always right. I don't care how good the food is, and it is good, but I don't want to be yelled at when I am out on a Saturday night, or any other time. more

good waitresses, great food and even better prices... 3/5/2008

I have been going to Mene Sushi for years, it is actually the only place me, my family and friends go. We have tried other places but that is the main reason we keep coming back because nothing compares! Sushi is very fresh and they always have new and exciting specials. They also are one of the only places to make sushi with brown rice which i love! It does get very crowded on weekends and there is a wait sometimes, but it stays busy for a reason and thats a good thing so i can't complain. The prices there are so reasonable so my family and I can enjoy their food quite frequently, dining in or carryout, unlike the typical expensive sushi restaurants that you can only afford to visit on occasion, and Mene taste better, I dont know how they do it but keep up the good work. It's all family there, so they really care about the restaurant and the customers and it shows. Pros: prices, fresh sushi, family owned Cons: weekends are very busy and sometimes you have to wait longer than usual, but worth it more

Very dissapointed. 2/16/2008

I visited Mene Sushi while in town on a business trip, and expected it to be good from the reviews here. I was extremely dissapointed. The place was busy, loud, and packed with kids. My first thought was ""Is this the Chuck E Cheese of Sushi?"" The disposable chopsticks in tear open paper wrappers didn't add much class either. The wait staff seemed confused and incompetent. The girl that waited on me got yelled at because I ordered more sushi after eating some, .nd she wrote 2 tickets for it instead of adding to the first order. She also had no idea what Inari sushi was when I asked for it, and had to go ask someone, which took about 5 minutes. I got Vegas, Volcano, and Sakura rolls, plus an Inari. My Vegas roll came out with 2 extra pieces of sushi ont he plate that I had no idea what they were. They weren't assembled well, so i had to assume they were part of a roll gone wrong thrown in for bonus. The Sakura roll and Inari weren't bad, but the others were pretty terrible. The flavors weren't bad, but the textures didn't blend. The nori was tough, and after chewing up the sushi pieces some, you could easily separate the components of the roll in your mouth into 'too chewy', 'too tough', and 'just mush' with your tongue. It reminded me of the bad sushi I had in the past that made me hate it, until I finally found a good sushi place. I also felt sick to the stomach after eating here. I had to spend some time in the bathroom once I got back to my hotel room, with bad stomach pains, which never happens when I have sushi elsewhere. The one good thing was the price. Rolls here were typically $8-9, where I would pay $11-12 for the same thing where I go back home. Of course, the extra $ is worth not getting sick, and a better atmosphere. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. If this is really the best sushi in the area, then I'm sorry for the people that live there! If you're ever in the Akron, OH area, check out Sakura Sushi. It's the best I've found yet! Pros: Inexpensive compared to other places. Cons: Bad atmosphere, 'cheap' feeling with disposible chopsticks, not very good sushi. more

best sushi for the price! 7/5/2006

Ive been a regular there for years, good, fresh sushi, good lunch specials and its a small family business. Pros: fresh fish, good sushi Cons: you wait a bit sometimes, small place. Some servers better than others more

Reliable fresh and innovative 2/19/2006

I have been going here for several years. Mene is a small place tucked into a strip mall behind Outback steakhouse. Their sushi is very fresh and they have several interesting rolls to choose from. I usually get the gyoza, edamame and their spider roll (soft shell crab). Ask to see their descriptions for the different rolls that they have. Pros: Great rolls, Very fresh Cons: Small, Crowded more
