Best

I ordered the Hummus and Chicken plate. The food was ready to go when promised and it was delicious, and there was plenty of it! I will definitely be ordering from them again.

Worst

Poor service. On repeated occasions, it has taken forever for someone to come to take our order, and even longer for the food to come. Food is ok. Definitely do not go if you have...

Good people of Nashville... This is not Mediterranean food worthy of an international city such as yours. more

WAYYYY at the TOP of MY list! YUM! =) 1/29/2009

I was in Nashville visiting from Memphis on business for Vanderbilt, when I saw this restaurant's sign above Cheeseburger Charlies and next to Starbucks, across the main North-South street that goes by the east end of campus, where I spent all my time attending a seminar. I visited Mediterranean Cuisine throughout the 6-day seminar and was absolutely thrilled with every visit. The only time the service was slow, it was obviously because the place was jam-packed. The servers are very nice and totally genuine. They made me feel more welcome than anyone else in the whole city did the entire length of my visit. The food? WOW! Yummy!!! Pros: great people, amazing food Cons: none, whatsoever more

Best falafel in Nashville (anywhere for that matter) 1/13/2009

My wife and I had not been here in over 2 years and I was craving their falafel. Well, my anticipation was fulfilled! Wow this place stepped up and served the tasty food fast. We also enjoyed a nice glass of tea and split a serving of grape leaves. Awesome! Pros: Great food and service! Friendly staff and owner! more

Some of the Best Greek and Mediterranead Cuisine in Nashville sold at very reasonable prices & served in a clean and comfortable environment 10/11/2008

I really enjoy Mediterranean Cuisine for their high quality food and great prices. The servers are friendly and accomomdating. The hummus tastes natural and not like the peanut butter you find at fast food greek restaurants. They also cater though I haven't had the chance to try their services; I will write a review of the catering when I do. Pros: great food, price and decent service Cons: can take a little while to get order taken on busy nights but that is to be expected more

Gone way downhill in every way with new owners. 4/1/2008

We knew this place to have really good greek food. I called ahead to see if they served liquor. Yes, we could bring wine or beer. My boyfriend called too, and found out the place had new owners, and also found bad reviews online. This was 1 hr. before we were to meet. We soldiered on and decided to go anyway. WARNING: DO NOT SOLDIER ON. more

Disappointing lunch 10/2/2007

The quality of food left much to be desired and service was atrocious. Granted, it did not cost much, but when you detest mayo and specifically ask for no mayo twice and get globs of it....angry. Pros: good location with Vandy, cheap Cons: poor service, bland food more

Owner is dishonest 5/10/2007

I have been to this restaurant many times to do deliveries and other service. I had to stop doing business with this guy because he kept lying to me and telling me that he didn't order what he did. The guy is a cheat, he might make ok food, but I don't do business with dishonest people. more

3 strikes you're OUT 11/17/2006

Last night was my third attempt at the Mediterranean Cuisine. The first occasion was about a year ago in which I had a mediocre lamb pocket, filling and affordable, but nothing to rave about. My second attempt, a couple of months ago, my dish came out cold. Although the waiter was eager to ""heat"" it up for me it didnt make up for the bland and microwaveable taste. Last night I had taken a friend who had never ""experienced"" the wonderful tastes of the meditteranean and was hoping for a better experience myself. We both ordered the mixed grill combo platters. He with the shrimp, lamb, and chicken. I with the lamb, beef, and kifta. The waiter described they are served as kabobs, as it specifies on the menu. When the dishes arrived mine consisted of two VERY small slithers of lamb (not cubes), as well as 2 tiny pieces of beef, and the kifta in which all was very OVERCOOKED to a crisp (in other words burnt). My dining partners dish was the same. It looked as though the cook had tried to hide the fact of ruinig the meat with smothering it with sauce and putting the onions and peppers on top. The shrimp kabob my partner ordered with his ""platter"" was merely 3 very tiny shrimp, with no flavor, served over yellow rice. The only things edible on both of our plates were the rice, hummus, and salad. Upon complaining to our waiter his english suddenly became very bad. Although he did apologize there was no compensation offered and we left disappointed, angry, and still hungry. I'll stay with Anatolia on White Bridge Rd and Sitar, both very good with an over accomodating waitstaff. Pros: no pros Cons: food and service more

Delicious, but very slow. 3/1/2006

I love med. cuisine! The food is awesome and you can't beat the prices. But be prepared to stay for a while because it can take forever. The servers are extremely nice, but they are not very attentive. Even so, I still highly recommend med. cuisine! more

messed up 3/31/2005

Two co-workers and I ordered to go from this place. We work on 21st Ave. down the street. When I picked up the food, I asked was this everything? I was told the order was correct. When I got back to work, there were many missing items. I called the restauramt and their suggestion to me, since I was not able to leave work again, was just to come in after work and pick up my missing items. This did not remedy the fact that 2 of us did not get to eat lunch. I think they could have had better customer service. Pros: flavorfull food Cons: missing items, poor parking more

I love this place 3/22/2005

I love both the Vandy and the Brentwood locations. I started going here during college and I have never stopped. more

open letter 1/11/2005

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Letter to management has been written. Bad service, RUDE WAITRESS. I highly advise NOT eating here. Not worth the money at ALL. Pros: vegetarian more

To-Go in Brentwood 2/20/2003

Mediterranean Cuisine is a wonderful place to find healthy take-out food among all the chains and fast food in Brentwood. The staff is very friendly and I have often found myself craving the Chicken Shwarma Platter. Pros: hummus, tabouli, friendly more

we just call it ""Med"" 1/29/2003

As a local student, and vegetarian, I am often hard pressed to find affordable food within walking distance of school. Med cuisine has become my, and my friends', old standby. The consistently delicious food is a fresh break from the grease sandwiches/pies served up by places like Cheeseburger Charlie's (downstairs) and Guido's Pizza (across the street). Another draw offered by Med is that from the Hookahs that are available with the obligatory apple shisha (flavored tobacco) for a mere five bucks. They make a great after-meal conversation starter when shared among friends. Pros: Price, Rarely crowded, Arab MTV on big scree Cons: Parking more

Fun with Friends 1/18/2003

As Vanderbilt students, my friends and I go to Mediterranean Cuisine often. Not only that, I can't think of another restaurant that we get more excited about. It's cheap and wonderful. Pros: cheap, good food, hookah more

slow 10/3/2002

Poor service. On repeated occasions, it has taken forever for someone to come to take our order, and even longer for the food to come. Food is ok. Definitely do not go if you have any time constraints. more

Excellent Food, Great Prices 8/17/2002

My wife and I have been going here for several years now. The service is great, the atmosphere is pleasant and low-key, the food is an excellent value (and there's something for every taste and budget), and it is very close to downtown. For two people, I recommend buying one large sampler platter and two plates. Less than $11, and you'll both leave the table satiated. One small criticism - I don't like their tabouli at all. It is no problem though, they will gladly substitute extra rice or hummus. Also, be aware that you will not get as much food in the takeaway version of the sampler as you will if you dine in. But why get it to go? Enjoy a leisurely meal, and indulge yourself in baklava and a relaxing shishah afterward. Pros: Inexpensive, Convenient, Delicious Cons: Parking, No Handicapped Access more
