Me & Ca Karaoke Bar

We got hooked on karaoke at a bar in the Olmos Park area and decided to scout out some venues in our area that specialized in karaoke and found this place.\r \r The bar, staff and patrons we're all warm and friendly enough and we got plenty of opportunities to sing.\r \r The only issue I had was the substandard sound system and the ceiling placement of the monitors which was very hard to read.\r \r For a venue that specializes in karaoke every night of the week, they really should consider investing some money in a better system that doesn't sound like a mono PA. I won't consider returning until they do. It just sounded that bad to me. more

I went here for my sister's birthday. In the 3.5 hours we were there, she got to sing once. I myself never got to sing and when I went to talk to the DJ he said there were, ""still a bunch of people in front of me."" In the whole time we were there I only counted 8 singers. The rest of the time we listened to Prince (over and over and over) while the DJ took 10 minutes getting the next singer set up.\r \r One regular was allowed to scream about his second ammendment rights over Aerosmith's ""Janie's Got A Gun."" He sang the chorous right and then would just yell about how he had a right to own and carry and shoot his gun. I'm a gun advocate myself, but this got me furious!\r \r The waitresses and bartender were nice enough and kept the table clean.\r \r The decor was retro 80's and felt pretty cheesy. The place should be fairly new but looked rundown. At one point a girl got locked in the bathroom for almost 5 minutes because the door handle broke off while she was inside.\r \r If this is your home bar, you'll love and appreciate it. The atmosphere is ok, could be better. We have been there 3 times thus far and I will say the first time was the best. There are certain regulars that command the stage constantly and they sing ok but are not, by any means, good enough to record anything that a person would be expected to pay money to hear. This in turn makes the crowd bored and you can see a lot of ""eye rolling"" going on every time they get up to sing, Not a lot of fun. The owners are generally there especially on the weekends and have a happy go lucky air about them. They are always taking pictures and posting them on there website of new patrons both who take the stage and those who are just there to watch. Overall it is nice to go once in a great while but can get old quickly because of the regulars. more

This place should be avoided by strangers. My wife and I went to have a good time and found we were all but ignored by the obvious clique. We wasted 50 bucks on small weak drinks, but we will not be fooled again. The best thing to do is have a party and hire a D.J. that likes EVERYONE, not just certain people Pros: Plenty of tables Cons: unfriendly atmosphere more

Me and CA was horible. They ruined a dear friend's birthday party. Even after I and another friend spoke to the DJ three times about the situation, she was only allowed to sing one time over a four hour period even though the DJ's favorites were called up four and five times. When I spoke to the owner, Caroline, about the situation she disregarded what I was saying, and instead of speaking to the DJ, she just said ""I don't have to talk to you anymore"" and walked away. I was not being irate or disrespectful, I just wanted my friend to be selected equally. more
