I started seeing Dr McTammany about 5 years ago for routine yearly exams. In 2013 I became pregnant and continued my care with him for prenatal appointments. He and his staff made me and my husband feel so comfortable. Every step of the way we were very impressed with all aspects of my care. more

I am going to tell you up front, that I am basing my perceptions of this doctor by what a relative of mine went through under his care. I cannot in good conscience recommend this doctor to any pregnant woman. While he seems nice enough, I just don't think that the patient's well-being is at the top of his list. He was never very helpful in answering questions. He gave my relative a whole bunch of absurd restrictions that I've NEVER heard of with ANY other doctor, and this was NOT a complicated or high risk pregnancy. I can only speculate as to what his c-section rate must be. He induced with no good medical reason...just that the due date fell very close to a holiday, for which he would be out of town. In my opinion, this is just bad form, and is not good for the patient. She also told me that she never felt comfortable talking to him about her pregnancy. I can't imagine that makes for good care. more
