McCream Donuts! 7/17/2009

McMillians was a must have in the 70's and 80's when my family lived close by. Cream donuts w/granulated sugar to die for. Cheese danish that was super moist, Top Hats (choc. cake with cream center, hard choc. outside and cherry on top) sticky buns and snowflake rolls so delicious! To compare to Termini's is like comparing an ocean to a desert - Termini's pastry's are dry. McMillian's are an oasis! Still try to stop by when in the area even though I live at the Jersey shore now. more

EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!!! 7/15/2009

My girlfriend gave me two donuts from McMillans and I am hooked!!! I went there myself and spent $75 bucks on their cakes, cookies, donuts, and cupcakes so that I could share with my friends & coworkers. Everything is absolutely delicious. But I have to say, my favorite by far is their cupcakes & buttercake. You have to try it, its out of this world. No other bakery compares in my opinion!!! more

We have been going over the ben franklin bridge from pa to nj to macmillans bakery for their powdered creme-filled donuts for the last 25 years. Also, their cakes are top quality. We have been getting their birthday pound cakes foreever - also the best anywhere more

Great sticky buns 6/16/2009

the best things here are the breakfast items. The donuts, danish and the sticky buns. Donuts are excellent and they sell out early. The cakes and pies are pedestrian at best; the cookies are grocery store quality. Be prepared for service that is often rude, indifferent, and slow. The older women who work behind the counter are miserable. more

THE BEST 5/27/2009

Good: They make THE BEST cream donuts in the world!. Bad: That I moved to Maine and I can't get to McMillan's easily. Improvements: A branch in wells Maine.. Other: I lived about 3 blocks from McMillan's from 1945 up to 1961. Then moved to Haddonfield, then Marlton until 2001. I made periodic stops at McMillan's after moving from Westmont. My contact with this bakery spanned 56 years,and I miss the cream donuts. Thanks for the memories. Chas Simmons. more

with out a doubt the best cream dounut in the world. `born and raised in phila. but now live in fort lauderdale i pick up a bakers dozen every time i fly into phila, which is about 5 times a year. it takes about 3 krispy kreme donuts to make one of mcmillans. termini or holmesburg don't compare. more

Special Order 4/22/2009

I recently ordered a cake from McMillan's requesting a replica of the top layer of our wedding cake for our 2 year anniversary. I am new to New Jersey and McMillan's came highly recommended. I provided a picture and was told it would be no problem. When I picked it up it barely resembled the picture provided. It looked as if the order had been rushed and there was no attention to detail. I was extremely disappointed. I would not recommenced this bakery to anyone with a special request. more

McMillan's is Wonderful 4/8/2009

Don't listen to people when they say McMillans is bad. That is a fairy tale. Try eating baked goods in California then you will know horrible desserts. I have always gone to McMillans because they have great quality products. I just think that bad review was written by someone that works for Termini LOL. more

Best bakery around! 3/25/2009

My brother lives in Haddonfield and every time I visit him, I demand we stop at McMillian's! It is an absolutely scrumptious bakery. They offer a variety of donuts (best Boston Kreme I have ever had), breads, tea cakes, scones (which are NEVER dry or crumbly) and muffins/cupcakes, etc. The staff is always so kind and accommodating! This is by far my most favorite bakery to visit. Even mu husband, who is anti-fat and anti-sweets, will eat treats from McMillians. One piece of advice: GET THERE EARLY ON SATURDAY! Oftentimes, the line is out the door. Well worth the wait... Check them out! You won't be sorry! Enjoy! :) more

McMillians Bakery in Westmont 3/4/2009

I stopped eating cake from McMillians over 30 years ago, when you eat their cakes, you eat them all night long, repeating the cheap products they use in their cakes that make you burp & repeat the aftertaste. I didn't know I was eating another cake from there tonight, & spit it out after one bite & had to ask where the cake was from. I know most people love their cakes, but I am not one of them. I like natural ingredients, not from a jar or bottle, as theirs tastes like every time. You want a good cake? go to Termini's bakery that originated in South Philly, but also has a branch in Washington Twp (NJ) that the cakes are still made from the original South Philly bakery & shipped over to Jersey every day. THAT is a good cake EVERY time. See for yourself. more

Wonderful cream doughnuts 2/11/2009

Moved away from the area 25 years ago. Last weekend went back to McMillan's for cream doughnuts to take back with me. I forgot how wonderful your doughnuts really were. They are so full of cream and are delicious, well worth the money and a trip from NE PA! Wish we had a McMillan's in the Wilkes Barre, Pa area! more

Best doggone baker in SJ 10/24/2008

It's the only place I buy my cakes,doughnuts, and even cookies! They made of fan of me with their angel food cake, a cake I traditionally turned my nose up at. McMillan's travels with me to family out of state...it's that good! more

It has always been clean and freshly painted. Remember when costs went up for baking ingredients and are higher now? McMillan's still keeps their prices reasonable. Maybe McMillan's should remodel their bakery, fancy it all up and raise their prices so Lee L. can have something else to complain about! Just can't please some people. McMillan's is the "Best Bakery" around today! Using the best ingredients, never skimping to save a penny. Doing their best to keep their prices affordable for all. more

Holiday Cakes at McMillan's Bakery are a true gift! 12/18/2007

Remember that feeling you get when you watch the original "Miracle on 34th Street?" That innocent, happy feeling of childhood wonderment? Well the holiday cakes at McMillan's Bakery are the confectionery embodiment of that feeling. Their cakes are decorated just like I imagine the cakes at Macy's were back in the 1940s, and they taste delicious! Their yule log cake is decorated with beautiful meringue mushrooms and decorative leaves. Their holiday rainbow cake (each layer is a different color) has all sorts of adorable decorations as well. McMillan's Bakery is a real treasure, and while I have never noticed the quality of their exterior paint job (except that I never noticed it to be unattractive), I have ALWAYS noticed their delicious cakes, donuts, cupcakes (YUM) and other treats, all made right in the shop. McMillan's is a special place, and their baked goods are a real holiday treat! more

Yes McMillians is a great bakery and they have been around a long time. Now that the Westmont Haddon Ave streetscape is underway and looking great, I hope the newest generation of McMillians will reward it's customers by painting the building it occupies...old doesn't need to look shabby. They have a great opportunity to show appreciation to the town that has supported them all of these years. Let the outside look as good as the goodies inside taste! more

Donuts from Heaven 6/15/2006

Wow! I had my first run in with McMillan's donuts recently, and they are amazing. They are by no means waistline friendly, however the occasional indulgence is well worth the calories. The cream filled donuts are absolutely packed with sweet sugary cream. The glazed donuts are also not to be missed. One of the few homemade donut places around - and one not to be missed!!! more

Don't forget the doughnuts! 12/9/2005

I can't eat any other doughnut ever again without comparing it to the best doughnut I've ever had; a doughnut from McMillan's. It has changed my life forever - no longer can I tolerate the dull, dry doughnuts from my local grocery, any of the major chains across the country, or even my local gourmet bakery. McMillan's creme-filled doughnuts with their soft powdered sugar exterior or their crunchy crystallized sugar coating are the best I've ever had or will ever have. I live in Florida and will be visiting family in south Jersey for the holidays, and I'm sending some overnight express to those who can't be there to enjoy them first-hand. Too bad McMillan's doesn't ship! more

Landmark Bakery! 10/12/2005

McMillans has been around for a very, very long time, and with good reason. Their baked goods are next to none, and their sales staff is competent and friendly. It is a wonderful place to order birthday cakes or rolls for an upcoming party. It is also a great place to find seasonal baked goods. Their cookies are delicious. Everything is always very fresh, and they package it nicely in boxes to travel. Enjoy your experience at McMillan's! more
