Worst 5/28/2008

I am a Nashville native who lives in another city now. My Irish boyfriend and his friends went to this bar while in Nashville as they thought it would be a cool place to go. The bar staff was rude and physically aggressive to a group of guys in town for a good time. I will NEVER step foot in this bar and I am hoping most of you will use your good judgment and do the same. Friends of mine in the city where I live now will not go to Nashville because of the treatment our friends received. I hope the bar management is proud of themselves as the literally wiped out potentially thousands of dollars in revenue by being rude and offensive to a group of harmless Irish fellows. I am embarassed to call myself a former Nashvillian because of the management and employees at this establishment. STAY AWAY FROM HERE AT ALL COST!!! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything...especially the management and the employees more

A refreshing change 3/5/2008

Being a Nashville native, I have learned to avoid 2nd Ave like the plague! Against my own will, I was escorted down second ave one night and led to into McFadden's. This place was AMAZING! We were having a late dinner and the food was great. They had traditional Irish dishes and some great burgers for the less adventurious. My friend had the Dublin burger, it was delish and beautiful. The severs were all sp nice and they worked together to make sure everyone was taken care of. After dinner, we stayed for drinks and the party. About 9 they bring the lights down, start the music, and start moving tables. They place drew in a lot of people, everyone seemed to have a great time, including me and mine. They make it snow with napkins, the employees join the party and make a ruckus. (I love a good ruckus.) This is 2nd's only saving grace, but it's great because you can get there at 6 and not leave til 4 (yes I said 4) and have a great time the whole time! Pros: the employees, the food, and the patrty Cons: I can't sleep over more

Great Party Place 3/4/2008

I had a birthday party there a couple weeks ago. I called them and asked if they could work out a deal if I would bring in 30 people. They gave us some awesome pricing ($2 drinks), and gave me a great deal on my tab. Everyone was super nice and my friends and I had a blast. Great place to have a birthday party! Pros: really nice staff, good prices more

Really cool place to kick it 3/4/2008

Cool place, good music, hot girls, good bartenders. Pros: good drinks, hot girls, cool bartenders Cons: gets really busy more

Great party atmosphere late night! 3/4/2008

McFaddens late night is a very cool place for your 21-35 crowd. The staff throws a huge party like nothing I have ever seen. They let girls dance on the bar late night, but they are not the 50 year old tourists like you see dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly. Alot of the crowd are my fellow Vanderbilt students, and we have a blast. They also have alot of young professionals that frequent it. They have one bartender named Jeremy that works on the weekends that is cool as hell. He always remembers me, always remembers what I drink, and is just cool. The dude poured me and 4 of my friends a shot, and took one with us, then said it was on him and he appreciated us coming in. Come on, where else in this city are you going to find a bartender that buys you a shot just because? Pros: Good Ambience, Cheap drinks, Awesome staff, Rockin Party Cons: ? more

Love this place, everything is great!!! 3/4/2008

McFaddens is unlike any other bar/club I've ever been in it's a really cool place!! Nashville is such a cool city and really needed a bar like this! This place has it all flat screens, a hard working and attractive staff, an incredible DJ and they know how to throw a party!!!! I went to McFaddens expecting just another night in downtown Nashville and was blown away, the staff is very interactive with the crowd and really gets the crowd going! The bartenders throw napkins all over the place and dance on the bar but not skanky, and I even saw what I think was a manager (he was dressed up) put a bartender on his shoulders to make a drink for me, it was unreal!!! I cant say enough about this place I had a blast and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a wild, crazy, fun night!!!!! Pros: Everything Cons: It closes!!!! more

The Best Irish Pub In Town! 3/3/2008

So i typically don't write reviews like most of the previous people had said, but i loved McFaddens!! I am from Nashville, and like most locals don't usually travel to downtown unless prompted by a bachelorete party or birthday or for just a change in atmosphere. Well a friend of mine won a Happy Hour Party on a Saturday Night. Wow! This place was amazing. I am not sure where the person that wrote Mc ""Fat"" n's came from, but all the girls on the bar that night were not fat, not one of them! These girls were not trying to be like Coyote, they were just Bachelorette Parties or normal every day girls that just wanted to cut lose. Hot bartenders flared for my friends and i as well. Great Bartenders and an overall crazy time!! I have actually been to Ireland, i have family there, and the pubs there that i have been too definatly compare to McFaddens....so though they may not play the traditional Irish Music, believe it or not this pub is damn close to the real thing!! Pros: Awesome Nightlife, Friendly Staff, Talented Bartenders more

Absolutely one of the worst bars I've ever been to. 2/1/2008

Worst bar I've ever been to! Horrible service (nearly impossible to get a drink)! Not much else to say. You will regret going here as I did. Made the mistake of attending a ""VIP"" party a friend ""won"". There was nothing vip about it, couldn't get a drink, weren't cheap like they were supposed to be... dreadful experience. Hilarious how many of my friends have been there and thought the same thing, we had some funny conversations.. Pros: not a single one Cons: every aspect more

Mc""FAT""ens 1/31/2008

This is not an Irish Pub! This is a pathetic attempt at ""Coyote Ugly"". If you like heavy-set women with cankles dancing on the bar right in front of you... then this is definitely your place. The service was horrible and the employees do not pay attention. I've been to this joke of a bar once... and I'll never go back. Which is a shame for them because I drink like a raging alcoholic! Pros: Highly visible Exit signs Cons: Everything else more

Great environment! The party is crazy at night!! 1/22/2008

I've been to McFaddens several times and have always had great experiences there! We go for luch a couple times a month and never have had any issues! We'll stop by sometimes after work downtown and have a couple drinks during happy hour. The specials are great! We signed up for a happy hour party just like the guy below did and it clearly has a checkbox to opt in/out of their advertising. I won a happy hour party for my friends and i and had a wonderful time. I got to drink for free and my friends (there was no limit to how many i could invite) got to drink for $2 a drink. Definately sign up for a happy hour party while there!! It is definately the place to be on Friday and Saturday night for the young professional! Wednesday is their ladies night. I would recommend Mcfaddens to anyone! I'm a fan! Pros: Great looking place, good service and it's the place to party at night! more

New Years @ Mcfaddens 1/1/2008

New Year Eve was awesome. FSU will be back to the Music City Bowl and return to McFadden's for the awesome music. We were there ever night with DJ CLIFFY D. Best DJ in the South. I would never graduate if he was here in Florida. It would be party every night. Cliffy D is Off the chain. Pros: DJ CLIFFY D Cons: food more

Lousy bartenders, dirty restaurant, usually out of most of their food and beer selections 11/8/2007

This is the first time I have reviewed a place and I almost feel bad about the serious thrashing I'm about to give. But, here's the low-down on McFadden's. I have been in the non-irsh pub bar four times. The first time was for lunch with my collegues. Everything was filthy. I literally stuck to the booth and the table. The waitress brought a towel over to wipe the impossible goo off, but the towel looked more like a soot rag than a cleaning tool. They were out of just about everything on the menu and at least half of their beers. The food we did get was mediocre, but we ate it and didn't complain-even though food of that quality should be half the price it was. I figured that it must be a great party spot because they certainly couldn't be know for their dining. So, my girlfriends and I went out one friday night and stopped in. Wow. I've never been so uncomfotable in my life. Not only did it take too long to get drinks, but the bartender, Frank, was a complete D**K. I ordered a Coors light and I watched him pour me a Bud lite. When I protested he said that he ""knew what the h*ll he poured"" and that he was the bartender. Then he demanded I drink it and pay for it because after all ""no one can really tell the difference in those cheap c*** beers anyway"". I hate Bud lite and yes I can tell the difference. I refused to take the beer or to pay for it and we left. There are other horror stroies about the place that I can relate, but I feel like these two experiences are enough to save innocent bystanders from being pulled into that horrible place. Pros: They do have plasma TVs- that's something, right? Cons: cleanliness, food, selection (out of a lot of beers and food), bartender-Frank, more

We loved McFadden's! Great stop for lunch or after work hang out. 11/6/2007

We loved this place. The service was good, the food was good and it was worth the drive. We live 20 minutes outside of town and were downtown for once in a blue moon and came across McFadden's...we were glad we stopped in! It was really a lot of fun. They had a great selection of food and drinks- enough to please anyone looking for anything. We were impressed with the atmosphere- it was a really good looking bar. We will be back- next time we're in downtown Nashville- and have already recommended it to all our friends. Pros: Great food, great selection of food and drink, great service and location, ambience nice! more

Don't Go! 10/19/2007

I have been to McFadden's about 5 times for lunch and will never go again. Here are the reasons: Pros: Location Cons: Price, Food, Spam more

WKU search Nashville for DJ CLIFFY D 10/13/2007

According to WKU campus the only place to party is where ever you can find Dj Cliffy D. Pros: DJ CLIFFY D Cons: WHEN CLIFFY D IS NOT PLAYING more

Fun at McFadden's 9/19/2007

While bar hopping in Nashville with my soon to be sister-in-law for her Bacholorette party, with a few other girls we ended up at McFadden's. This is the bar we closed down. We had so much fun dancing to the fun music that was played. We danced on the bars and the elevated sides of the booths. Everyone was really friendly and drinks were served non stop, no waiting! We will be going back to party everytime we go to Nashville! Pros: Great fun, Great Services Cons: Unfortunately we didn't go to eat dinner. more

Avoid 8/31/2007

I will never go to McFadden's again. A good friend of mine won an evening where he created a guest list and had his own personal party. Sounded GREAT! We got there and received our tickets with the instructions that we could drink all the domestic beer, well mixed drinks, and house wines that we could from 9-11pm for $10. The friend of mine that won the party was actually denied entrance because he had on white shoes (which was not posted anywhere, and I saw at least 3 other people in the bar with white shoes). It took forever for the bartenders to take my drink order, but I finally got my drink. When my girlfriend went up for her 2nd drink they told her they weren't serving liquor any more. I went to the bar and they told me they were only serving bud light, miller light, and budweiser. We talked to the door lady and she told us we were allowed to get mixed drinks, house wine, and domestic beer like we were originally told was the case. We went back to the bar, and they told us they were not serving us liquor. Thankfully they gave us our money back when we asked and didn't make a big deal about it. I really didn't want to be aggressive about getting my money back, but I was so frustrated at this point I gladly would have done just that. I'm typically such a passive person and would never go to the trouble to write a negative review about a place. But the service was poor, the servers were rude, the atmosphere was tense and trashy. I can't stand the bars on 2nd, and this is yet another example of why I never go downtown. Pros: leaving Cons: service, bartenders, atmosphere in general more

McFaddens was a McFlop 8/30/2007

A group of friends went to McFaddens before a concert thinking it was an Irish Pub. A couple of posters and Shephards Pie on the menu does not in my opinion constitute as being an Irish Pub. Took forever for a server (around 6:30PM) and service wasn't stellar-brought the entire table of 6 one empty ketschup bottle and we had to ask for silverware and napkins after our food was brought out. Food was okay but not worth the $10 bucks for a burger or $14 bucks for fish tacos that were described as catfish but didn't taste like it. Four Miller Lite's and two sandwiches cost $50 bucks! Insane. Especially since at that time it's Happy Hour at every single bar downtown. As the waitress delivered our check she said, ""sorry, we're down a server tonight and it's crazy"". Didn't seem crazy. Plus, now is not the time to announce that. Being down a server has nothing to do with giving a visibly empty ketschup bottle and all the other problems we had. Cons: Expensive more
