mayura claims to specialize in keralan food (southern india) although the menu contains food from various regions of india.\r

there is a weekend buffet for $11.95, which gives you a variety of dishes that i cannot comment on. see, i did not go for the buffet... my friend did.\r

i went for the spinach masala dosa - which was a crepe with potatoes inside. there was some crunchiness to the crepe that i enjoyed, especially when dipped into one of the many sauces made of coconut milk. the serving was huge and can be shared with 2 or 3 people.\r
\r
i also ordered the special kerala chicken biryani. again, the serving was huge. there were a lot of spices in there that made it so flavorful -- cinnamon, cardamon, etc. i enjoyed this dish.\r

for dessert, we shared a ras malai, which is made of cheese soaked in some milk and flavored with cardamon. i am not partial to indian desserts so i find this just ok. my friend thought that there was too much cardamon.\r

overall, i liked mayura and my friend and i agreed that we would have to come back and try other dishes.
