I have been to the Max's Opera Cafe in San Francisco numerous times and a Max's Restaurant in Santa Clara. I have to say of all the Max's this is by far the best. The ambiance is great whether you are on a date or with the kids. The wait is short no matter what time you go to eat and the servers are all very friendly. Portions here are unbelievable big. This restaurant is a great value considering you get enough food for two meals. Highly recommend the Mediterranean chicken, the chicken pot pie, the mile-high carrot cake, Max's fantasy torte, the 7 layer cookie, ANY of the salads, and the raisin bread that usually comes with dinner. This place is the best!
I did try the honey rotisserie chicken and it did absolutely nothing for me. Likewise the Light Chinese Chicken Salad is lacking much flavor.
