Editorial review from Citysearch 12/5/2012

DON'T sign up! These people don't give a hoot about your needs and requests. They are more concerned about the monthly payment they receive and will not, I repeat WILL NOT be flexible with you. They will offer options to THEIR benefit, not yours. They will constantly remind you about the contract you agreed to, which is fine but come on we are talking about a martial arts class not a mortgage lien. These people will upsell so much to try and get as much money as possible from you. Everything HAS a fee! Be warned, they are fast smooth talkers, reminds me of a used car salesman. Their spills are canned and have thought of every angle. For example, having the option to cancel for convenience isn't an option for you so think twice before signing up. Their contract is a one sided contract written to benefit them, not you the customer. They forget the golden rule, the customer always comes first! more

Classes too big and more about money than the kids 12/20/2011

They make you sign a one year agreement which they refuse to let you out of, even if you are unhappy with their services. We have sent multiple emails which they are certainly responsive to, but not much changes. It is all about business and not the children, which is a shame. This is not the military, if you want to leave you should feel free to leave. They only care about money and it shows with their over crowded classes. I signed my niece up so she could gain confidence in herself, but being lost in the shuffle of the huge class and constantly being called the wrong name does not help build confidence in oneself. I feel they need to actually teach the students to perform perfectly because that is what we are paying them to do- teach. If I wanted my child to copy someone, I could throw some kicks in the air and have her mimic me. While the instructor is good and she has people helping her with the kids, the classes are sloppy, disorganized, and too big for them to ascertain that all the children are getting the attention they need in order to learn how to do the moves properly. They do not work with children in perfecting their form and hand out stripes or let them go to the next belt easily- as long as you pay the extra money to test to go to the next belt. On the bright side, the schedules are very flexible and everyone on staff is extremely nice- except when my 7 year old niece said she no longer wanted to do tae kwon do and they tried for 30 minutes to guilt the poor little girl into staying. more

QUANITY NOT QUALITY 8/5/2009

At first it seemed alright, but as the months passed everything about the place seemed to involve some kind recruitting. My child's class became extremely large and the quality of lessons suffered - but they did offer a pricey dvd that covers what my child didn't learn in class. Instructors changed numberous times to the point my child doesn't know the instructors name. I also think it is a scam to charge parents an additional $60 for Rank Tests to see if the child learned what we already paid them to teach our kids. It couldn't be to cover the paper certificate, the $10 belt or even the instructors time because the use class time on Fridays. Unless you have money to burn -join the Y. Cons: HEAVY RECRUITTING PRACTICES & OVERSIZED CLASSES more

AMAZING 12/28/2008

My son trains at MASTERS and they are wonderful. The instructors really care. I think it is the one place that teaches real martial arts. They seem to have that X factor that really makes thier students great. Plus they constantly emphasize all those traits that I want my son to attain. more

Not what I wanted 4/10/2008

I left the school because I put my kid in to learn how to fight and although they taught him some good moves they focus alot of the training on things like confidence and discipline. I could teach him those things myself and I figure for the price I'm paying they should just teach him what I want them to. Their head guy is some kind of top rated fighter so why wont they focus on that for my son. Pros: Nice facilty, Qualified instructors Cons: Focus too much on Discipline & Confidence instead of just fighting more

Bad experience 6/17/2007

I attended this school a few years ago, and I didn't learn much. The main instructors were great at tae kwon do, but they weren't good at teaching it. I had to teach myself the spinning hook kick because they couldn't teach it to me. I kept doing it wrong, and it felt wrong, but they kept saying it was good because they didn't know how to tell me to fix it. Pros: Classes almost every day Cons: Teachers can't teach more

Great Training and Family Fun 12/28/2006

Great place for the whole family to train. Staff is wonderful, respectful, and willing to give you their best. They offer great activities for the kids.My kids love Ninja Nights, they feel secure and at home when at M.A.S.T.E.R.S. more

Good School 1/17/2006

It is costly, but they teach you many styles of self-defense, different types of martials arts, and they work you hard. They want you to become the best that you can be. more
