Our server ruined a good night 6/17/2011

I need to voice my thoughts because our server was all wrong and treated us badly. We treated our girls, all now over twenty-one ,to a trip to Las Vegas on memorial weekend. That Saturday, 5/29, the girls and I went to Margaritaville on the strip to enjoy some music, drinks, and food. All went pretty well, and I would say our server ""Adam"" in the beginning was doing okay. Just before I was finalizing my tab, a group came and was seated right behind us, making it almost impossible for myself or the girls to get up, they were hitting as couple of us in the back. This group consisted of all girls and one guy that was holding a check stating he won $341,000.00 from the Palms. Our server immediately jumped to their attention and forgot all about us...I guess those $$ signs were twinkling in his eyes. Well, to make a long story short, this group was not being adults and our server was catering right into their needs. Basically our server was blaming us for the problems this group was causing. He acted like a child with his swift marched walk like a child does when they do not get their way, basically telling us to leave. At this point, I had already signed my slip, even left a decent tip, which now I wished I had left him a big fat zero. This was our first time at Margaritaville, and to be honest after what happened, I cannot see myself coming back anytime soon. more

Highly recommended during off peak hours 8/6/2009

The Perfect Margarita is indeed the perfect margarita. Those complaining of poor tasting margaritas didn't bother tasting anything other than the simplest one. I travel to Vegas at least twice a year and always stop by here at least once. \r \r I recommend the blackend mahi mahi(catch of the day) with island rice and jamaican bbq sauce, the cheeseburger, the fish sandwich, the nachos, the blue crab dip(EXCELLENT), the conch fritters, the nachos of course, and the jambalaya. Come to think of it, I haven't had anything here that I do not like...\r \r Pros: Great Margaritas, Great food, Visually pleasing restaurant Cons: Gets far too crowded on the weekend nights. more

Old, crowded, fights 1/8/2009

If you come to Vegas (as in your drove a long distance or flew in) and this is the type of place that you find to be fun, then Vegas is simply not for you...or at least not The Strip. You can find a place like this in an suburban shopping mall. If you like the Casino Royale or the Gold Nugget, then this place is for you. If you like downtown Vegas, then you might like this place. Full of old and ugly people. There is always some sort of drunk idiot in this place that is mad at life and who wants to stare at chicks he can't get. Often, these guys/women are outside on the patio facing The Strip. They think they are living it up. Never, I repeat, never pay to get into this place. The food is no good and the drinks are better and cheaper in any of the casinos. Cons: small, tacky, crowded, old (old crowd and old decor) more

Good food, disappointing service and dishonest customers 10/29/2007

We were in Las Vegas over the past week and a half and ate at Margaritaville twice. The first time, we were seated within 10 minutes and had a fabulous meal and great service. The second visit, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for a table... another couple apparently sick of waiting even tried to steal our reservation by claiming it was their name that was called (fortunately we were right there to prevent it). The service this time was marginal at best, as our server took our order but we didn't get our food until almost 45 minutes after we were seated (nothing difficult, a cheeseburger and nachos). People seated after us were being served and/or paying their tab to leave prior to our meal arriving. The music was deafeningly LOUD and painful for the ears. \r We visit Vegas frequently, and I'm not sure we will be back to Margaritaville. Pros: Good food Cons: VERY loud, poor service more

Like it but LOVE the one in New Orleans! 9/20/2007

To be fair, I visited the one in New Orleans 2 weeks before Katrina and had a blast there on a Monday night when it was totally deserted and got a tour from the staff. It was kickin'. Cheeseburger in paradise really was paradise!\r \r The one in Vegas is cavernous compared to NOLA. Sat at the tables made of fishing boats but had to sit in front instead of the preferred spot in back. Cheeseburger was good but not as good as NOLA. \r \r Still, it was coool and we spent a ton of coin in the gift shop. Pros: good burgers Cons: wait more

Two words: Volcano Nachos 9/4/2007

We love Margaritaville in Vegas. I think we stop in at least 2-3 times during our trip. Things that are a must:\r \r 1) Volcano Nachos: Best Nachos you will ever have and enough to feed 8 people\r 2) Perfect Margarita: They have the best margarita hands down. On the rocks----with salt. It doesnt get any better than that\r 3) Loaded Coronas: Coronas topped with tequila\r \r Margaritaville must be on your to do list. Best to sit on the rooftop patio over looking the strip. Even if its hot, they have the misters on which will cool you down. And if that doesnt work, try one of their mixed drinks. Their Pina Coladas are awesome. Pros: GREAT drinks! Cons: Can get crowded more

Great Margaritas! 7/15/2007

We are definitely coming back to Margaritaville when we go back to Vegas. Got the Top Shelf Margarita on the rocks with salt, very smooth and perfectly mixed. BF liked the Shark Lager and for an extra dollar you can ask them to put a shot of some lime liquor in. Definitely order the conch fritters, they were so delicious we came back the next day to order just those. Peel and eat shrimp was disappointing. Their fries are tasty too. Mostly burger and fries/onion rings here, nothing fancy. I've seen the place crowded before but we went early and avoided all that. Pros: Margaritas, Shark Lager, Conch fritters Cons: Crowded more

Very fun atmosphere, Laid-back but high energy at the same time. 6/29/2007

This place is great. Eventhough it's on the strip, it has this colorful, laid-back atmosphere. Yes, it certainly attracts a lot of tourists, but as a local I felt totally at ease there, not at all annoyed. I had a great time with my best-friend who was visiting me. I had two absolutely delicious drinks and these Jamaican chicken wings that were phenomenal! Margaritaville is the perfect place to chill out on a weekend afternoon and it has a good energy at night as well. The bartenders are very friendly and attentive. The only thing is that it is very crowded, as you can imagine. Be prepared to wait for 30 mins to 1 hour to be seated. Pros: Good drinks and food, Friendly staff, Laid-back atmosphere. Cons: Tends to be pretty crowded. more

Best Rita on the Strip 3/15/2007

Let me start by saying Im a Houstonian and with the amount of great Mexican restaurants in Houston I think I know a good margarita. Very disappointed trying to find a good rita while playing around on the strip. DO NOT buy the Yards of Margs that the various venders sell. Little to no alcohol, more like a limeade. Finally stopped into Margaritaville and was not disappointed by their drinks. Had a Perfect Margarita on the Rocks and it was very strong, stiff, tasty, and great. Also had the Uptown Rita frozen and again, wasnt let down. Good people watching, friendly bartenders, and ended up being one of my favorite afternoons there. Give it a try! more

Average Spot - Not really a Jimmy Buffet feel. 2/23/2007

Not a great place but not a bad place... let's just call it ""a place.""\r Nothing stands out on either side - so it's average.\r It's right off the Strip - like a few feet, so that's convenient, but be careful.. if you have to many cocktails, you could accidentally fall into traffic.\r Pros: Location Cons: Crowd more

What a Great Place 11/23/2006

I loved this place! It is what it is. If you walk in with high expectations, maybe you'll be disappointed, but we weren't. The service was friendly, bartenders, and waitress. You definitely get what you pay for, and the atmosphere is really fun and unpretentious. The rooftop bar is a great place to sit and people watch. Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Large crowds at times more

Loaded Coronas 11/22/2006

We only go to this place to drink loaded coronas good on a hot day. The food is average your typical Amercan style burgers, sandwiches, and so forth. The atmosphere is really lively which is fun. Pros: Lively, loaded coronas Cons: average food more

Happy place 11/8/2006

Margaritaville has an awesome atmospere. Looking for a good time and great service, you found it. more

Its Jimmy Buffett's place 11/2/2006

We go here everytime because my boyfriend is a huge parrot head. its fun, amusing. Drinks are decent. You aren't going here for the amazing food, but more so for the atmosphere. During the busy times they have a girl in a bikini who is dropped in on a hook and splashe around in a blender type looking thing filled with water. the ambience is good, they have two rooftop bars which are a lot of fun to go grab a drink and chill, and people watch. Pros: Good selection, fun atmosphere Cons: usually only play jimmy buffett's music, long waits sometimes more

cool band, fun crowd 9/25/2006

It's not your typical Las Vegas nightclub, but I have to say it's one of my favorites. It's a fun bar - a restaraunt until 11 pm or so, then the bar crowd starts coming in. It's a great place if you're looking to meet people that are a little more relaxed instead of the booty dancing crowds you'll find elsewhere. Wide age range, good drinkns, bartenders are fun. Pros: great vibe, good drinks Cons: not really any dancing, except for the few wasted people at the end of the night more

Good time at Margaritaville 7/5/2006

Good food, but definetly overcrowded. Went to Vegas for my wedding & ate there twice. They staff was very friendly, and they made up for the long wait we had (2 1/2 hrs!!!!!!!!!!) One thing I didn't like was when they did the margaritaville song & the girl slid into the thing on margarita glass, hope they were serving that to us!! But I would definetly go again when I go to Vegas, just make sure I have a little more money to spend at the expensive resturants. It also get a plus since it was in the Flamingo & thats where we stayed. The Flamingo is a great hotel too. Pros: Wait Staff Cons: Time waiting to get a table more

Waste of Time and Money 5/25/2006

If you are looking for a tourist trap, welcome to Margaritaville. Unlike its restaurant at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida this one sucks. The food is terrible, it is mass produced and reheated by microwaves. The one in Orlando is fabulous. I do not know what happened to the concept but Jimmy needs to get on the ball with this. It was very crowded and the music was so loud, you could not talk to the person across the table at all without yelling. There are plenty of other restaurants with better food and atmosphere. The hotel lobby bar drinks were better than their signature Margarita. more

Try It Out 4/15/2006

One of the best things about Margaritaville in Vegas are the bartenders. Always friendly, always excellent service and the drinks were fantastic. Try the margarita the bartenders call the Holy Grail of Margaritas. The food is standard but consistent. THe main resturant is very loud and makes it difficult to hear when dining in a group that's larger than 3 or 4. I reccomend either the second story dining room or the third story balcony that has misters in summer and heaters in winter. Pros: Drinks, Atmosphere more

nice time 4/3/2006

Lively place. Bartenders were real nice and chatted a lot. Got our drinks and went to the third floor and watched the sun set behind Caesar's Palace and the people strolling about. Pros: good service, margarita selection more

I love Jimmy Buffet 3/28/2006

I loved this place! It is what it is. If you walk in with high expectations, maybe you'll be disappointed, but we weren't. The service was friendly, bartenders, and waitress. The redbull margaritas were tasty. We had the chicken wing, nice and spicy, and two big bowl salads. You definitely get what you pay for, and the atmosphere is really fun and unpretentious. A great way to spend your first afternoon in Vegas Pros: Service, value, atmosphere more
