My job is office manager of a family practice in Eufaula. I did take my child to this office for 5 yrs until we moved. If we every move back,I will definatly take my to Dr. Mansfield again!\r I understand why some office's have parents/patients to take their specimen/cultures to the lab. Some laboratories have a lot of paperwork that needs to be completed before the test can be ran, thus this is done by the lab itsself. \r Also, the lab will only send out a carrier to the office if you have a substantial amount of testing that is done in office.\r Lastly, Did you mean Biohazard matertial instead of Biological material? If so the test should be in an enclosed container which is safe to carry.\r more

I took my son in for a possibly infected cut, and when they were done taking a sample they instructed me that I was to take it to the lab. What kind of practice does not send out their own samples?! At the risk of sounding snooty, isn't that their job? And somehow it doesn't seem safe for me to be carting around biological material. Then I got to the lab and had to wait 30 minutes to give them my ID and insurance card. By this time my son had developed a fever and was inconsolable. Needless to say, I am switching pediatricians. It is completely shocking to me that any office would not provide this service for their patients, and I can't believe anyone would stand for that. If I wasn't afraid he had some crazy weird staph bacteria I would have thrown that bag in their faces and told them that they should be ashamed of themselves sending sick people off to the hospital to drop off their own samples. Unbelievable. more
