Very unsatisfactory. I had brought my puppy there to get some vaccinations and have his ears checked out. They diagnosed him with an ear infection and gave us three different medications for him, which was so hard to follow through with because my dog ran when he seen me picking up the bottle. They were not very helpful on teaching us the symptoms of ear infections or what to do to avoid them. He got a hold of the medication on the bedside table while I was sleeping and ate it. I called them as soon as I realized during business hours, left a message, they never called back. I ended up calling poison control and they followed up for the next two days. A week later he found a way off his leash and got hit by a car, called them frantically and there was no answer again. Thank God there is another animal hospital in the area. Have left about ten messages on their machine with no call back. I had to go to the office to get more medication because they neglect any calls or messages made. Needless to say I will not be taking my puppy there again and I would never recommend this place to any animal lover because they are ice cold and careless. more

!!! BEWARE !!!\r \r I brought my dog there to be spayed. They anesthetized her and called the house to say she was in heat before continuing the procedure. Since they we unable to talk with anyone in the 5 minute window of calling the house they did not perform the procedure.\r \r We spoke with them and they said that since she was in heat they would have to charge us hundreds more plus additional charges bringing the total to near $500.\r \r We decided to look elsewhere. Note we had the ""friends of animals"" coupon and the spaying was suppose to only cost around $90 for the coupon + medication afterwards.\r \r The second place we took her to performed the spaying and accepted the coupon. They said the dog was not in heat and only charged us additionally for the medication afterwards. Thus the spaying cost us $90 for the coupon + medication afterwards totaling around $130.\r \r I believe the doctor at this place lied to us about the dog being in heat. Then the office wanted to add ridiculous costs and was determined to get around $500 for the spaying. This was an inconvenient and unsettling experience for us.\r \r Obviously we'll never go back there again. more

If you are looking for a vet who is professional and knowledgeable ... look no further.. Mansfield Animal Hospital's Dr. Sohn and his experienced staff: Vet Techs Julie and Pam and Front Desk personnel: Angela and Sheila treat you and your pet like family. My dogs, Bella and Bree have been part of the Mansfield Animal Hospital family for *6* years... A year ago, my sister's dog, Skoochie who lives in Florida was ill and she took her dog several times to her vet and had no idea what was going on. I had my sister phone Dr. Sohn and had her vet send xrays over to Mansfield Animal Hospital. Dr. Sohn diagnosed Skoochie immediately based on the xrays and symptoms. I brought Skoochie up from Florida and I can honestly say, that Dr. Sohn saved Skoochie's life. She was diagnosed with Cushing's disease and has been doing extremely well with her medication. After a 9 month stay in New England, Skoochie is loving life again in Florida. If you want the VERY BEST, then look no further, call MANSFIELD ANIMAL HOSPITAL!. more

Stonecold! 2/7/2009

When Dr. Sohn diagnosed my dog with cancer I asked "How long will she live?" His response a shoulder shrug, "I don't know a day, a week a year." And then he left the exam room!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? When the difficult decision had to be made to euthanize her I drove a hour to my friends vet in Rehoboth where Dr. Bruzzi sat on the floor with me and my dog while she crossed over. He was kind and gentle and truly had compassion. Nothing like our "other" experience! Pros: Kozy Kennels is Awesome!!! Cons: The Vet office isn't! more

Avoid 8/23/2008

I agree with others who give this vet a low rating. I recently relocated to the area and took my 4 year old very friendly lab there to get established with a local vet. The front office people are OK, but Dr. Sohn has NO bedside manner whatsoever and I seriously question his expertise. He is curt and sour. He treated my dog and my questions about lyme disease and west nile virus like major annoyances. Thank Godness there was nothing wrong with my dog because I fear that if there were, he would not have the expertise to help her. He is the type of vet I run away from very fast. I will never go back and encourage others to find a vet that has been trained in the 21st century. His fees are excessive--I paid $60 for him to listen to my dog's heart beat and tell me she is healthy!1 FInally, their waiting area is too small for dogs that weigh more than 40 lbs. Stay away!! Pros: None Cons: Everything more

We didn't have any issues.. 4/1/2008

We brought our Boxer (Baxter) here last year to get neutered we didn't have any issues at all. Baxter healed up fine and we never had to call them about any problems. We had such a good expirience that we are scheduled to have our second Boxer (Zoe) spayed next week. Pros: They accept friends of amimals vouchers. they are friendly Cons: none more

Love it! 8/15/2007

Before my dog died last year (of old age) we took to Dr. Sohn. Dr. Sohn did everything from neuter him to take care of him when he managed to bite his own tongue in a bark-off with another dog. We never had a problem getting proper care or medication and Dr. Sohn was alawys very straightforward with us. Fanily friends recommended him to us because they've been taking their dogs there for years. Wouldn't go anywhere else once I get another dog. Pros: Staff and Treatment Cons: Parking is limited more

Unfriendly and unhelpful 5/12/2007

It was obvious to me that this vet was the only game in town - they were completely unhelpful and rude when treating my cat. She has a seizure disorder, and Dr. Sohn acted as though her exams were an annoyance. He was not knowledgeable about phenobarbital dosing and I actually had to determine her best dose myself. When I finally took the cat to Tufts Vet Clinic in Walpole, the doctor there was kind and friendly, gave me all of the background about nonspecific seizure disorders and a variety of treatment options to choose from. It was great! I'll never go back to Dr. Sohn. Pros: Um, the office was relatively clean. Cons: Bad service, bad attitudes, few hours more

Great, Prompt, Friendly Service 4/25/2007

My daughter and I have been breeders of Pomeranians for several years and have been a client of Dr. Sohn for about 4 years. The knowledge he and his staff have of Toy breeds exceeds my dealings with other Animal Hospitals. They are very direct with their treatments and will refer you to a larger facility if needed. Dr. Sohn has done 5, C-sections over the years when the deliveries have run into trouble. Thus saving puppies when I might have lost them. I was refered to him by other Breeders and they were 100% right when they said he and his staff are the best in the area. I travel an hour to get there when there are others closer because of the friendly feeling I get from the staff and the doctors. I have found that if you have a problem with a pet and you call the staff will evaluate the problem and get you in to see the doctor as soon as possible. Pros: Knowledge, Friendly service Cons: none more

They offer nothing!!! Just take your money! 11/1/2006

I used to bring all my animals to this vet, but then my cat got Renal Disease and they sent me back and forth from them to a emergency hospital. I paid $1200.00 at the Empergency hosptial because they told me they didnt have the proper equipment to treat her for the under the skin treatment and ultrasounds. After that I bring her in for a check up and they just take her after leaving me in the waiting room for 25 minutes and then take her again and leave me there for another 25 minutes, then come back with her and dont tell me anything. I say does she need more fluids and the girl just looks at me and says "do you want more" and I am like I dunno do I need more , your the doctor not me and you just saw her for 25 minutes. She knew nothing and just gave me more fluids for her. Then I get up to the counter and it was another $130.00 for all this stuff that I didnt even see them do and they didnt even tell me about it. Then the next day they call and the girl is rude, not at all helpful, and says oh she needs her pressure checked and we didnt check it for some reason. But here is the great part, They do not have the proper equipment to test her b-pressure so I would have to go back to the emergency hospital and then come back with her results. So I asked her...What services do you offer? You say your a animal hospital yet you offer NOTHING! So I spoke with some good friends of mine and they referred me to the Raynham Animal Hospital and they are fantastic. They tell me everything she needs, how much it costs up front, for how long it needs to be done, why I need to do it, and how she will be feeling, and they even have all the PROPER EQUIPMENT.I would never bring my animal mansfield again.I would recommend their Kozy Kennel because the people down back are fantastic, but I would not recommend their vet services because they have no clue what they are doing and they just charge you and take your money. That is all they are good for.See for yourself. Pros: Kozy Kennels and Grooming Services are Great! Cons: Veterinarian services are HIGH PAY FOR NO SERVICE! Little Knowledge of animalsjust basics so hope your animal doesnt get seriously sick cuz then they just send you somewhere else where they charge you 3xs as much and then tell you to come back. more
